From the garden yesterday. This is not my plot. Eggplant going to flower. Is this nightshade flower not extraordinary? The color, the detail.
The stitches are out! He was going to leave one in as a tether but thought about it and said I was healing well enough I didn’t need it. My mouth is happy with the new arrangement. He also gave me a reprieve from the mouthwash I hate, that stains my teeth. My job now is to heal and continue to eat soft things.
He could have made me wait. He was not finished with a surgery he started earlier but he pivoted and got some support so that patient was being cared for. I appreciated that so much. I go back in 5 weeks to get the bone graft membrane out and then the next steps will be in the fall.
It is getting hot. I will need to water the garden every day or every other day. Everybody that could be out, was out yesterday. There was a nice breeze but it was clear and warm.
I had the time and watched the January 6th hearing yesterday. I find them riveting and a bit of a civics lesson. 50 years ago, the Watergate hearings were just at the beginning of my formal working life and these hearing are at the end of it. I am less shocked but no less disturbed by the revelations.
Running the League of Women Voters study group starting in the fall will be interesting.
But in the meantime I get to relax and enjoy the pleasures of a warm summer day.
p.s. The Morning Glory seeds are growing by the hour…
