IT’S SO FUCKING HOT OUTSIDE!!!
Heat wave this week with temps in the mid 90’s (32 C) with a heat index off 100 (42 C) plus.
I’ve been keeping an eye on the outdoor cats, making sure they have plenty of water. They’ve been hanging on the back porch. It’s covered and I’m sure the concrete feels cool to lay on. Pistachio has four new kittens. Ugh, I need to get on the horn with animal control about a catch and release cage. They’ll spay on Thursdays and bring them back on Fridays. However, these babies are still nursing so not right now.
Monday evening was the viewing for uncle Don. Between his 40 year career as a postman, coaching all his kids activities and being a church deacon, there were SO many people there. You can tell his was loved by many.
The funereal was yesterday. The service was actually a bit funny because the guy doing the procession mentioned his nickname he had carried over from high school. Ding-dong. Well…uncle Don WAS a ding-dong. Always quick with a joke and his humorous personality. They had a TV screen on the wall above his casket displaying photos. Always had a smile on his face (plus his impressive head of hair, papa’s side of the family all had impressive hair) and a lot with his kids and grandkids. He will be missed.
Today I had to take mom to the gastro doc then to the pharmacy. So…freaking…hot. We grabbed lunch at Jason’s Deli (you need two hands to eat half a sandwich from there.) Now we’re back home, all the lights off and box fan going. Just trying to stay cool.
Tonight shall be chicken…something. Though I’m thinking about digging into the other half of my New York Yankee. Pastrami, corned beef, Swiss, mayo and brown mustard. 🤤🤤🤤
Got an interview tomorrow afternoon with a brass company. We’ll see how that goes.
