Dreams and Download in Diary

I had a couple of strange dreams last night. In one of them, everyone was walking around half naked and admiring each other's naked bodies, paying compliments and smiling. Some people started, um, doing naughty stuff, and then I was kissing Adam Sandler...ADAM SANDLER! It could have been Ewan McGregor or Hugh Jackman but my subconscious clearly hates me.

I also had a massive falling out with someone from roller derby (still dreaming) because I was late meeting her due to being unable to find a functioning cashpoint and she thought I was just avoiding her.

And, a very rare occurrence, I was actually aware I was dreaming at one point. My normal form of transport in dreams is to fly; I just jump into the air and start swimming, that's how I get around. (Either that, or driving my car very badly which usually ends up in me crashing it.) But, last night, I was happily swimming through the air as usual and I suddenly realised that I must be dreaming because I knew I couldn't do that in real life. My normal reaction to it is "Oh wow, I thought I could only do this in dreams." when I am actually in a dream, lol.

Well it turns out that four Download Festival tickets had been allocated for me when I only asked for three. I had enough trouble trying to give away the third one; no one could make it. But then Jay sold it to his mate for a crate of beer and my petrol money. And then I suddenly had another spare one! Luckily, Jay's cousin sent me a message on Facebook on the off-chance I had a spare, saying his friend was looking to buy one. So I've got my spending money for the weekend sorted with that.

I spent a large chunk of yesterday loading USB sticks with all the technical info for the stage, so that was exciting. Then the tour bus arrived and picked up all the crew, that actually was quite exciting. They'll be there now, putting it all together.

Woot woot, only two days to go :o) The Offspring are doing the entire Smash album for their set, I can't wait. They used to be my favourite band, way back in 1998, and I've only seen them once, in a massive arena standing right at the back. Smash is clearly their best album (before they went crap with Americana...think Pretty Fly For a White Guy...yeah, anything after that was rubbish.) so I think I'm looking forward to that the most.

Plus a new band called Royal Blood. They only have two members; one drummer and one guitarist/ singer. He actually uses a bass guitar which he's adapted to double up as a lead guitar and it sounds awesome. They're on one of the smaller stages so it should be good.

Other acts we're going to see include Aerosmith, Linkin Park, Rob Zombie, Turbo Wolf, Skid Row, Sepultura and Twisted Sister. Should be good!

An example of one of the stages with our lighting from last year.

53 working days remain.
