Home again …… in The odd entries from life …….

I’m back home after a few days in Portsmouth, seeing my Sister and Brother-in-law, and visiting Mum. She wasn’t very happy this time, I tried to change her topic of the week, going home – looking after her Mum and Dad – and coming home with me or my Sister! She was quite forceful about her new life, but she doesn’t look very well.

While I was in Portsmouth it was busy with the 70th anniversary of the Normandy landing of the 6th of June 1944 D Day. On the 5th there was a landing on the beach by the Southsea Common, and after lunch there was an acrobatic display by the RAF’s Red Arrows Display Team.

Both days 5th and 6th were bright and sunny, the only rain was this morning as I was packing, it was dull out side and I stared my breakfast the was a very bright flash, followed several seconds by an impressive clap of thunder; then it rained.

I have edited the Landing’s photographs, of the 400 plus I took on the 5th, about 50 were of the beach landing the rest were of the Red Arrows; there is a little editing to do yet! A time of highs and lows, just a few years ago a trip to Portsmouth was a holiday – not quite the same now ….
