Their plane didn’t land until 11pm, but it was just as we drove past “Arrivals” because I’d been checking the flight status app.
They were here for three full days and left yesterday morning. And they just arrived back home this morning after twenty-four hours on the road. Daughter says she’ll call me tonight after she gets some sleep.
I’m glad they got the car back home without any issues. And they got the last of Daughter’s pile of her Grandma’s stuff she wanted. Plus I kept finding more stuff for her to take away from here.
She was really happy with the car. I thought she would be.
And with most of the clutter removed I feel like I can breathe easier. There are six pieces of furniture left that I’d like to be gone; a loveseat hide-a-bed (twin-sized), two chairs (a glider rocker with footstool and Mom’s La-Z-Boy leather recliner, two dining chairs (cherry wood that Mom paid $400 apiece for) and Mom’s twin-sized mattress ($400) on that box storage thing. But everything can stay for now. I’ll keep the dining table and the two folding chairs.
I’ve got what I need out here in the shed. My $100 twin-sized mattress on the DIY plywood box, my $15 swivel rocker from Goodwill and Mom’s $300 sewing chair in front of my DIY desk. Oh, and Mom’s little table with the drawer in it.
So here I am alone once again.
And it’s on to the next project- finding a piece of land somewhere and start building.
All in due time. All in due time.
