My EDS Challenge Day 1- Meet Me in Hypermobile Life

I am taking part in #MyEDSChallenge and #MyHSDChallenge with the Ehlers Danlos Society. Since May is EDS awareness month, every day I will be sharing something about myself and my EDS journey to drive further awareness and community.

Day 1- Meet Me

Hey everyone! My name is Dylanne. I am 33 years old, and from the Chicago Suburbs. I have hypermobility spectrum disorder (HSD), I finally figured it out at age 31. The two things that I am most passionate about in life are raising awareness & combating stereotypes about Ehlers Danlos syndrome (EDS) and Hypermobility spectrum disorder (HSD) as well as normalizing polyamory, a type of non monogamous relationship style. With chronic illness comes non-linear grief as well as re-visualizing your life goals and dreams. I am currently thinking about starting a podcast to interview people on their EDS diagnostic journeys. Outside of these two passions, I am admin assistant who works on billing auditing for a family payroll company. I love plants and gardening. I have a bachelors degree in zoology & botany but I also really enjoy genetics. I’m excited for the future research on EDS and genetics. I love cuddling up with a nice cup of tea and a good book. The band Linkin Park has been a lifelong favorite of mine and three of my tattoos encompass their meaning to me. I love artwork by Mike Shinoda. I have a wonderful partner, J who I have been with for 2 years today. I also love the color orange, doing various crafting & organization projects, and journaling as a creative outlet.
