We tried something different this year at the SPRING ROUND UP….staying home at bedtime Thursday. We did buy the parking pass which meant that we had in and out privileges. We ate as much ice cream as we could in the time allowed, suffered through one not too bad local singer then left before the end of the gay porn guy. He was the wrong choice for this crowd of straight drunks.

The fun was seeing all those friends we had missed. “I have to be the only person here who has seen Mage drinking,” said Alex.

By the time Friday rolled around, we wanted to end the run home-run back routine. Not only were we already tired, but we were unused to the crowd. He took two rooms, we went home and packed, and we moved into a room. Lunch at a cutsey snack bar- the 17 dollar grilled cheese was a little tough, but the fries were delicious. He worked the literature table for a while, and I went to a meeting. The sun was out and the sky was blue. The world was a really good place.

Saturday we went to a Long Timers meeting. George spoke and they laughed. We went to the banquet, but not to eat their expensive meal, and heard the speaker. Loved seeing all the dressed up people.

I should have brought a suit too.

Sunday we packed again and were off to the Sunday SPIRITURAL BREAKFAST. I’m afraid I dozed a bit. In the end it was of the most importance that I say a little more than hi to friends. We packed up the last of us into the bed of the truck, and were off toward the beach.

And these awaited us when we got home.
