Anita Diamant, author

This author writes SO beautifully! This slim book is about a small community that was "passed by" when a larger city, Gloucester, grew up nearby - a port city.

Early in the 19th Century, small towns existed, people took care of each other, and gossiped, and lived in harmony. This is the story of such a town, with strong women who did for themselves, sometimes to the detriment of others.

Loved the book. Recommend it highly.
