A number of months ago, when I was trying out new grains, I bought quinoa. It's recommended... Well, not by me! I won't throw out perfectly good food, but as for taste - eh!
I made it according to the directions, added chicken sausage (the only kind I've found that does not come in "a pork casing"), and some feta cheese. I topped it all with some oregano. I had about half of what I'd prepared. It was okay, but nothing especially appealing.
I'll finish the rest for dinner... can't WAIT to be done with the quinoa...

Apparently (according to a kids book we have), in Peru quinoa is eaten sweet, with honey. I haven't tried it though. X

I've eaten cous-cous that way - with honey, nuts and dried fruit

Maybe try cooking in a broth?

There was extra water in the bottom of the dish... and the quinoa still seemed a bit uncooked.

i don't know what it is, don't know how to cook it and not even sure how to eat it. maybe it needed to be cooked and eaten differently? take care,
