Active morning thoughts in Second 1st

So, taxes are done. We will be getting $4,948 back, together. We couldn’t claim the A/C unit because then we’d have to file together. Filing as married together means Rocky’s payments for his student loans go up. When I say go up I mean like they expect nothing now and when we file together they want $500 a month. He will be calling next week to set that up for the year.

$4948.... just under $2000 will go to pay off the garage. Then, I’ll order the mattress for Destiny’s so we can stay there during the visit in June. I guess some time in March we will have to go apply for a Lowe’s card… or Home Depot.... to get our zero turn. Both have a 6 month same as cash so we want to put it off as long as we can to take advantage of the time. After we get the mower we will be saving $160 a month on lawn mowing services and I’ll be able to say good-bye to Todd.

We also have car maintenance to cover before the trip. Spark plugs and oil changes.... nothing major that we are currently aware of. Just a bit of TLC.

I think we are in a pretty good place for me not working right now. Granted I’m still being paid.... but we are on our way to preparing for me not getting paid, so that’s good. If I’m able to get this dizziness under control and get back to work than things will go much faster. If not than we won’t be in the worst struggles of our life. I see that as a win.

Got coffee at Dutch Brothers on the way out yesterday, it’s a tad out of the way but worth it. However, I’m not sure the 30 min wait in the drive thru was worth it. .... I got an actual coffee that my head didn’t regret till 6pm so that was nice. It’s not too bad this morning either.

I worked on a hot pink crochet coffee cozy while we were out. Rocky gave me a great improvement idea and now the project is on hold. I’ve made 3 coffee cozies so far. All have been for us. I made him grey ones and me a purple one. He’s got 2, one for his car one for mine. We occasionally forget them at home and he says I need to make us more so we can keep a small pile in my car in case we forget them.

Each time we pull them out while we are sitting at the drive-thru window the person who passes out the drinks comments on them. The last girl to do so asked how much I’d charge and put in some specific request. I’d said I’d probably sell them at $7 and she said “If you had a hot pink one with a glittery button, I’d totally buy it.”

ANYWAYS, I spent most of the ride working on it which honestly seemed to help with motion sickness. We were able to go a couple places when we got back. Rocky needed literally 1 thing at Wal-Mart and we stopped by a discount grocery store and got some stakes. Rocky grilled them up last night. We spent the rest of the afternoon playing Pokemon.

Today, I plan to let him sleep most of it away. He’s gotten up before 8 for 2 days and should get some rest before the weekend (cause he works weekends). We plan on playing games when he gets up. A trip to Lowe’s was mentioned to check out what they had in the line of ramps for the garage. However, it’s going to rain today so it really depends on the weather. It can be put off till next week… I have no intention of buying one today.

Talked to bestie today. Told her about taxes and I’m much less worried about trip funds now. Then she asked if I’d let her know when we get the money and if she could borrow some till she gets her taxes back. She is waiting on something from the unemployment office. She would usually have already filed. She’s worried about her wedding invitations and wants to get them so she can get them sent out. Her invites will cost $420 and because it’s so much I will have to talk to Rocky about it first. I don’t see him saying no because she will be giving that money back when she gets her taxes back.... which will for sure be before the trip up. Just that’s it’s significant amount so we will need to talk about it before I can commit. That’s reasonable and responsible.

I think that’s if for major thought dump this morning. Time for some Just Dance.... oh yeah, that’s gonna suck in a couple more days .... I’m only got Unlimited for 2 more days than the music selection will be next to nothing worth playing. I did get Fitness boxing so I’ll play that for a bit before deciding if 3.99 a month will be worth it for the bigger selection of tunes. Rocky said “As soon as it’s not fun anymore we will go get a $50 card to put on your Nintendo account or something so you can have the music for awhile.” So, it will honestly be me against myself. We both know the moment it’s not fun anymore I’ll stop doing it. Though the dizziness it stirs isn’t fun, I’ve been able to manage being at home so we’d both like me to continue the activity.
