both insane and not. UGH lol.
So, today’s episode of idiocy on there is that the Vax is giving people AIDS. Now the roundabout way they came about this is that it’s giving people autoimmune diseases. Which ok, granted, some COVID Long Hauler’s are developing autoimmune symptoms, but that’s just the COVID Virus doing it’s thing.
Now, here’s what I want to say. I’ve actually had this conversation before, and didn’t realized people still thought this way.
The person said if you get the Vax, you’ll end up with an autoimmune disease “aka AIDS”. Now, while he is right about the fact that AIDS is an autoimmune disease, this isn’t the one you’d get from having COVID, or if there were any cases of autoimmune diseases presenting themselves due to the vaccine, it still would not be AIDS.
AIDS is an autoimmune disease caused by a specific virus, the Human Immunodeficiency Virus, aka HIV. You can only get AIDS from HIV. It’s like those of us that have never had chickenpox. We cannot get Shingles. We can get chickenpox from someone with shingles, but we can’t get shingles. You can get HIV from someone with AIDS, but having HIV doesn’t mean you will get AIDS.
I currently have two autoimmune diseases. Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos (HED) is the syndrome which has led to me having Rheumatoid Disease and I have Hashimotos (Hypothyroid). None of those are AIDS because I have never had HIV.
People will see the terms autoimmune and immunodeficiency and think they are the same thing. The best way I can find to explain the difference between the two is Over/Under.
Autoimmune Disease is an OVER reaction of your immune system, to the point where it starts attacking healthy cells. In my case, with my Rheumatoid Disease, my immune system attacks my joints, ligaments and muscles. Other people have organ related problems. Because of my HEDS, the autoimmune part of my system thinks “That joint is TOO flexible, ATTACK IT!”. Thus, I am required to purposely suppress my immune system so that it doesn’t attack my healthy tissue and cause damage to my joints, ligaments and muscles.
I’ve already had my ankle destroyed by it. My hands/arms are affected because the inflammation has put so much pressure on the ligaments and whatnot in my hands that I have moderate carpal tunnel in both hands.
Immunodeficiency is an UNDER reaction of your immune system. You literally have no immune system all on your own. Therefore you are extremely susceptible to infections and other disease based on the fact that your system just doesn’t work. Cancers, viruses and autoimmune diseases can occur in Immunodeficient people due to the dysfunction of the immune system.
I’m probably getting some terms wrong, but it’s frustrating how people just throw out those comparisons without realizing the differences. And this did is ADAMANT that they are one and the same.
Anyway, that’s my little spiel for the day.
My dad started on the reglan yesterday, and he was able to eat some stuff, but he’s in some pretty bad pain today, I’m hoping that’s because things are starting to move in there, but I don’t know. He took some tylenol and was trying to get some rest because the reglan makes him super drowsy. Yesterday after his first dose He was like I DON’T LIKE IT! lol but I told him it’s your first dose, you gotta get used to it buddy. So if he still has a ton of pain later or tomorrow, then we’ll call the dr on Monday and be like uhmmmmmmm help.
He sees his primary dr on Tuesday to hopefully get some more tylenol with codeine but that’s still a few days away. Blah. I wish I knew what else to do, I’m trying my best.
It’s also hard for me to be like you’re in pain, but you gotta deal with it, because I do. I had this conversation with my husband yesterday about pain levels and how we all cope differently.
We’re trying to pinch and save here and there so we can afford meds (weed) so we can function and whatnot. He said that “we’ve been smoking less” and I just kinda was like hmmm not really. I said “I have been smoking less because you have been smoking more”. And he just kinda went....yeah I guess so. I told him I’ve been dealing with chronic every day pain for 25 years now. I know how to deal with my pain. It hurts like hell, but I have coping mechanisms. Ignoring it is a HUGE one. Nicotine is another. Which I’m also out of, I told him, but yet I’m still doing everything.
He just kinda was like yeah I know. BUT NO ONE STEPS UP TO HELP ME!
If I don’t do everything NOTHING gets done. And, as I’ve mentioned before, I am SO tired. But what should I do? Stop doing stuff? No, because then my dad suffers. I could run away, go somewhere no one knows me, but with what? I don’t have any money. I don’t have a car that could get me anywhere.
I know once the house money comes in and hopefully by then my dad is feeling better, I might take off for a weekend by myself. I need a fucking break! Like yesterday. sigh.
Just know, that if I disappear from here or facebook for a long time, it’s because I finally just lost it.
