I'm still researching gym memberships, like I've done the previous two years and have just gone back to the same one each time. It doesn't hurt to keep looking though. I found a pretty cool Aussie gym review website that explained more about all the gym's prices, since most gyms are notorious for not putting their prices on their websites. They say it's because each gym is independently-owned, and fair enough - it's just annoying. This website actually praised Jetts (my previous gym) FOR putting their prices right there for everyone to see.

From what I've looked at, Jett's and Snap seem to work out the same, although Snap don't really offer a 12-month option. If I join the Snap above my work and state where I work, apparently I get a 'corporate rate', so I'm keen to find out if that's any cheaper. I did ask my current workmates how much it was, and they told me, but of course, me being me, I've forgotten what they told me. I'll just have to ask again at work tomorrow night and figure out what works out cheaper. I do remember I have to tell them my work employee number, but they reckon they don't check it, just ask for it for legitimacy reasons I suppose.

It'd be kinda cool to work out with my workmates, but I think it could be a little out of my comfort zone as well. I'm much better at doing my own thing at the gym. Maybe they all do their own thing, but from what I've seen, they are typical straight guys and all like to compete with each other to see who the strongest is etc. Of course I have little issues with seeing straight guys flex their muscles and egos right in front of me, but hey :P I suppose it could be fun. I just want to ask them if they do a corporate 12-month option, because I just don't like the idea of a direct debit. I already have one with my internet I suppose, but I think it's more the hidden admin fees that come with some direct debits, which I know gyms have. So IF I could pay in advance a discounted corporate rate, then I'd definitely be enticed to join up. Otherwise, with Jetts, I wouldn't have to pay a joining or a card fee, as I already have those. I wonder if they price-match... Jetts prices have gone up $60 a year though, but they still seem to work out cheapest.

I did find it interesting that Queensland (my home state) has the most 24 hour gyms in Australia. And not just by a little - we have a LOT more. Looking at all the gym numbers, the highest amount of EACH chain-gym are located in Queensland. Maybe gym business owners know that Queenslander's are vain? I dunno haha.

In other news, I got the shock of my life today, via a friendship request on Facebook. I couldn't believe who it was. Does anyone who read me on OD remember that Ecuadorian guy? Jose'? Yeah him. The one who I couldn't get in contact with and I assumed was treating me like crap by just ignoring me even though we hung out heaps and hooked up quite a few times. I was quite hurt at the time, as I didn't know what I did wrong, or where he was, or even if he was still in the country. Anyway, this is the message he sent me...

*"What's up Spooky man!!!! I got shoked when your photo popped up on my friends suggestion.

What a small world!. So sorry I couldn't say goodbye before I got back home. It was one thing after another one. When I got a bit of a free time, I was getting into a plane to Ecuador haha.

Hope everything is great over there in Brisbane. How is your fitness course going? and work at Woolies?

Have a great day Matty, José"*

He called me spooky-man, as I think the first pic he ever saw on me I must've been randomly-wide-eyed in haha. I knew he worked a lot, but seriously? he couldn't reply to a text message? Either way, I was stunned to hear from him after like a year and a half and we had a short pleasant conversation. Apparently he's now working for an Engineering firm in Ecuador which is actually an Australian company, so he reckons there's chances he could even return here one day. Haha, time will tell I guess!

I've had a good day today, a nice day off. Ayden visited this morning and picked up his mail and we had a pretty good chat. I found that a little surprising as I actually put his mail under the mat outside so that he could just grab it and go without having to see if I was home or come inside, but he rang me and woke me up and I answered the door and let him in, so that was nice of him to want to have a chat anyway.

I find out a lot about the gay scene from his crazy stories that I wouldn't have a clue about as I'm a bit older than his age group of crazy gays that have wild parties and all that stuff. He wants to go to Seaworld on Wednesday. I'm a bit worried about that as I know that isn't cheap! It's fine for him as he wants to use his VIP Pass. I guess it's an option that I re-sign up to that again, but really, how often did I use it? It's convenient though. So I'll wait til Wednesday to see if that happens, and it'd be good to hang out with him again, just this time not as a housemate. It's probably the tamest of the theme parks.

I shared a hell of a lot of stuff on Facebook today. Things were just really interesting to me and a lot made me laugh. Sometimes there are days like that where things just work, others not so much, and I figure if it made me laugh, I'll share it forward. If I can get one person to laugh as much as I did, then I did my job. I was surprised one share got me 33 likes!
I did see one fascinating post by ABC about the history of the internet. I found myself reading the entire thing, because let's face it, it was invented when I was 6 years old. I thought it was invented in '91/'92, but I was wrong, it was '89!
I was very surprised to read that LinkedIn was around BEFORE Myspace. The article is here if anyone else wants to have a squizz.

I went over to James and Vish's tonight, which is nothing unusual. We just hung out, they argued like usual, and we ate my herb bread that I brought over last night. Angelo was chatting to me on Hornet, so that was a little bit of fun also. I like the new app update! Why the hell can't Grindr work with each update like Hornet does? Oh well, small things in life. I wasn't on there to hook up with anyone this time, was just bored I guess.
