So we left fairly early. It wasn’t an battle to get Rocky up and moving at least. We stopped to fill up gas and get a coffee. We’d decided to hit a Waffle House for breakfast closer to the destination. We went in and the waitress said ” We have one waitress and one cook, so it’s going to be a few.” Not a real problem as we’d really left too early and had plenty of time to wait through their issues. However, there was no where to sit. One of the coffee drinkers gave up his table and sat with another guy. A third came in and sat with them, obviously the regular crowd. I used a napkin bib as I wanted waffles and really couldn’t lean over my plate in a booth :(. The coffee we’d taken in with us was thick and weird so neither of us actually drank it. Left it there with a decent tip. Moved on..... was at the appointment an hour early.... well in the parking lot anyway.

Rocky called BlueCross to ask them about which policy we needed to file under. Really wanting every penny to count on the deductible if we needed to pay copays or anything. He got the info we needed and went inside.....

I got to skip the hearing test! With the promise that I would call and have the local office fax it over as soon as we left.

I was then told that the Adhear is basically for children which it does not say on the website. Not only that but most insurance won’t cover it and it’s $5,000 out of pocket. She suggested either a CROSS system or the cochlear implant. I wanted to avoid surgery but .... I’d always thought it was something I could put off till I was annoyed enough to get it. She’d explained it as though there is a limited window after x time my brain will no longer understand all the signals the implant would send. Unfortunately there is no way to know what x is and the sooner I get the implant done the better. sigh So, she’s going to have Vanderbilt call about scheduling testing and consult for a Cochlear implant. Roughly a 3 hour visit to Hearing and speech in Nashville.....

So, we go to leave and… Rocky had locked the keys in the car. He was so side tracked with getting the insurance straight that he didn’t realized he’d left them in the car. Called AAA and it was nearly 3 hours before someone came out. I called in the request for a fax while we waited of course. They received it while we waited in the lobby for the AAA guy.

Went by WM before we came home and made 2 copies of my single car key. Now he’s got one on his keys, one at the house and the original on my keys.

Dinner is the only thing left for today.... really don’t care what we have.... have lasagna but I’m not going to cook today. Honestly ready to find a blanket and try to get warm. I seem to have lost my warm somewhere while waiting to get the car unlocked.

Tomorrow, we’ll be going to see the latest Spider-Man movie. Bought tickets already for the show at noon. Then we have no real plans the rest of the day.....

Thursday I go to see the Neurologists assistant to talk about meds.
