We leave around noon today on the 5-hour drive down state where my husband and I will be staying until early February. Daughter is driving us and she will stay until Tuesday when I finally get my first chemotherapy treatment. I am a little apprehensive. Not really frightened, but nervous. Just glad to actually get this show on the road!
I spent all day yesterday doing laundry and packing. That kept my mind busy as we will be living in a small hotel room with limited storage. What to take. What we can do without....
A friend from way in the past phoned me yesterday. She lives fairly close to Billings and often visits the clinic where I’ll be She said she and her husband would come visit us and we could maybe play some bridge.... maybe go out to eat if I’m up to it.
I also got a call from my oldest grandson in Colorado. He is busy helping build a fairly new company and planning his wedding which will be in June. I promised him I would be there. Yes, I will!
And then my brother-in-law called. He is a great talker and it happened to be his birthday. An hour later we were all caught up on his family, the state of the world and other important stuff.
Anyhow, I got so much done yesterday I have nothing to do this morning but wait. It’s not quite so cold as it has been the last several days. Only 8 below zero. Supposed to be warmer in Billings this week. I sure hope so.
As I head out for this big adventure, I would ask my friends here to keep me in their good thoughts and prayers.
I guess I am a little scared....
I’ll try to keep in touch.
