It's Been A Minute or Two... in Thirty-Six

Hey friends, so it’s coming up on a month since I last wrote. Most of you are on my facebook so therefore you know what’s been going on. However, for those of you who aren’t, I will update now. Plus also fill in some other details from the last entry.

We learned on September 16th that the house had actually gone to Auction, and that the sale we were waiting to close on the 19th wasn’t going to happen. I wrote that day, with these things to keep in mind.

-Auction of the House
So the auction happened Wednesday, September, 15, 2021. We only found out because on the 16th, Randy’s phone started blowing up. He got phone calls from like three or four different lawyers saying HEY your house auctioned. Which leads me to the next topic…

-Sale Above Owed Price
We owed $109,000 on the house. We bought it for $95,000, but with missed payments and then making half payments on the mortgage for the last year and a half, we had accrued additional fees and interest. So when we got the calls, they’re like, So, the house actually auctioned for $154,000. The first guy that was going to buy the house, the one that backed out, told us that even if it went to auction and auctioned for more than we owed, we wouldn’t be entitled to the excess funds.

Turns out that was a lie. So after much deliberation, we found out that we are, in fact, entitled to the excess funds. And we found out what we have to do. The people that contacted us on the 16th wanted to take up to 33% of the total. We would have gone from getting $44k, to like $30k.

Randy talked to the actual law firm that held the auction and now we have to wait until October 30th to contact her again, then she will give us the case number and all that so we can file a motion with Pima County Courts to get us our $44,000. Sooooo yeah. I haven’t said anything about it on Facebook and please don’t because there’s vultures (aka the in-laws) who will jump on that shit right away.

We are planning to do a LOT of stuff with that. First and foremost we will be trading in our piece of shit car so we can have an actual working vehicle.

-Pending Unlawful Foreclosure
This was something that the people who contacted us had talked about, however after much research into that, we aren’t pursuing that, because it seems like a great deal of nonsense. So that doesn’t matter. It would have been like $500k if we would have won that case, but I doubt that would have happened.

Anyway, on top of all of that, my dad is applying for a $5,000 grant to get the house updated. It’s 80 years old, has original electrical, no insulation and the ceilings are missing. So once he finds out about that, we’ll know what we have to work with to finish updating the house. We did get the roof patched the other day though so that is a plus.

Then there’s obviously other stuff we plan on doing, like giving my dad a bunch of money, so hopefully he can either pay off his car, or get dentures, or go to Philly, or whatever the fuck he wants.

Randy still needs glasses. His broke in like June. I can get new glasses too. Then obviously we’ll be stocking up on MMJ at some point as well.

So there’s quite a bit we can and will get done with this. Hopefully they will accept my dad’s application for that and that way they can do all the hard stuff lol.

Anyway, so that’s about it. I hope you are all doing great.

Today is my older Brother’s 40th birthday! Happy Birthday Dr. A!

Take care, have a wonderful weekend!
