Another in the series about Gabriel Allon, an art restorer and Israeli operative. He keeps trying to retire and just work on art... but the "world" won't let him.
There were two threats to world peace in this book... and lots of artwork - Caravaggio, antiquities, the First Temple of Solomon.
Working in the Vatican, Allon is summoned to the side of a recent death. The curator of antiquities has been reviewing the museums holdings, and followed up on a lead. She was killed. The rest is the tangled web.
