My Oncologist took my case to the tumor board. They thought that they should check to see if my targeted therapy has leaked into the blood stream. That’s a sign that it isn’t working well any more. Blood was taken for a biopsy. If it has, they are going to offer me another kind of therapy. Right now they are putting me back on a higher dose of the stuff I am on now. Four horse pills in the morning and four at night.
I feel good. The worst side effect is a total lack of energy. I fall asleep at any gesture. I get out of bed one leg every half hour. I read a sentence between each hours nap. This morning, George gifted me with chocolate covered expresso beans.
I forgot to ask the doctor if I could have eye surgery. If being blind in one eye wasn’t such an impediment to living, I would ignore it.
The doctor did ask if I ever got out of the house. I thought that very funny in that I am rarely home any more. Last week it was the Hotel Del. Saturday was spent in Balboa Park then out to dinner with friends at the Prado. Sunday we actually stayed home, but Monday afternoon we spent in the new Cancer Center building in Hillcrest. Tuesday he did a therapy appointment, and afterwards we had burritos by the bay at Mission Bay. Today we are going to Ross for more expresso beans. Rarely home indeed.
