“You are not just a crack”

There are rivers that still rage
Within the contours of our past
Held firm and in place
By so many fevered dams
Constructed out of faith
As much as desperation
Just one day to make it past
That there was no forever ending
Etched into our framework
And laid within the bedded rock
There are however fissures
Microcosms of all that we lacked
There are small and indelible
Fractures within our structure
That leave me forever in the open
To you and this moment
If not just a crack

It is not just a crack

It’s been way too long and I finally might have free time ahead with Hurricane Ida settling down. They just got the debris piles taken away a day or two ago in my neighborhood. A neighbor right across the street finally returned and gutted their house and put up their For Sale sign.

I hope all are well.

May you always find your smile.
