There is a softness to you
That holds no fear
Only a tender trace of hope
Not yet smote by tomorrow’s inevitability
The impending downpour
Of torrential pain
That marries so pleasantly with
This interminable rain
Bedfellows are but strangers
In this grand symphony of sadness
Where every Jazz note once played
Leaves one all hollowed out,
A rusted-if-not-once-trusted
Sturdy-standing frame
Oh!
Such beautiful madness is conveyed!
Dread bellows from weary trumpets
Caustic mellows in each refrain
A lasting anguish from the Jazz trio
Playing their sweet medleys –
Most soulful offerings
For ever-dwindling cofferings –
In the pain-stoked streets
Of the rain-soaked Treme
New Orleans is always the mistress
If not the age old mystery
Dancing to the perfect melody
And I am but forever sunk
Within her wistful ways and wants
Washed forever upon me
Like The Storm
You are never gone
In the heart of the Marigny

Oh, I wish, or rather I used to. Haven't written in years. The muscle atrophy is a real thing.

No, I've just written online for decades and had people steal my stuff on occasion. I had some readers over the years publish my stuff kinda? Like self publish me as a gift of sorts. Haha it sounds so lame now that I type it out.
Oh Hurricane Katrina on the 29th, sorry! We just call her the storm down here. I've been watching that HBO show Treme finally to see what they did well and didn't get right leading up to it. It's been interesting. They get a lot of the city right, she infects you unlike any other kind of love or drug, for better or worse.

Oh, I don't think it matters. I just put it there because I created it. After that I figure if someone wants something they'll do it. Not gonna get bent about it. But I can prove it was mine cause when I post it is time stamped lol.
Honestly in all my time writing there's only a few I would be like yeah that one was worth stealing.
Usually they're all almost.. you know your own story, right? It's never as interesting when you know it. Every thought and feeling and word choice and clunky phrasing. Flow. That's what matters. Did they read it, like it, did it flow.
So many people aren't very readable. You have a nice flow.
