On the subway in keeping it postive

I have to take the subway to work. Sometimes I am lucky and get the train that originates at my home station ... ah, no crowds AND a seat! Generally the trains are crowded.

I am amazed at how many people are playing on their phones and tablets. Every so often there's an announcement about now flashing phones and tablets - those announcements are ignored... big time.

Once in a while there's music - either in the car or at the station. If I like it, I pay $1. Once I like the music a lot, didn't have a single and gave the woman a five. There's doo-wop, classic rock, classical (cello!). If I am entertained, it's worth the dollar.

I sometimes have the chance to read - either one of the freebie newspapers or my book. I have more conversations with fellow travelers on the bus than on the subway, but do chat with people once in a while.
