Homophobia = Wrong - 8/19/2005

I am the girl kicked out of her home because I confided in my mother that I am a lesbian.

I am the prostitute working the streets because nobody will hire a transsexual woman.

I am the sister who holds her gay brother tight through the painful, tear-filled nights.

We are the parents who buried our daughter long before her time.

I am the man who died alone in the hospital because they would not let my partner of twenty-seven years into the room.

I am the foster child who wakes up with nightmares of being taken away from the two fathers who are the only loving family I have ever had. I wish they could adopt me.

I am one of the lucky ones, I guess. I survived the attack that left me in a coma for three weeks, and in another year I will probably be able to walk again.

I am not one of the lucky ones. I killed myself just weeks before graduating high school. It was simply too much to bear.

We are the couple who had the realtor hang up on us when she found out we wanted to rent a one-bedroom for two men.

I am the person who never knows which bathroom I should use if I want to avoid getting the management called on me.

I am the mother who is not allowed to even visit the children I bore, nursed, and raised. The court says I am an unfit mother because I now live with another woman.

I am the domestic-violence survivor who found the support system grow suddenly cold and distant when they found out my abusive partner is also a woman.

I am the domestic-violence survivor who has no support system to turn to because I am male.

I am the father who has never hugged his son because I grew up afraid to show affection to other men.

I am the home-economics teacher who always wanted to teach gym until someone told me that only lesbians do that.

I am the woman who died when the paramedics stopped treating me as soon as they realized I was transsexual. (yes, this actually happened: http://www.gendernet.org/quill/pr000004.htm)

I am the person who feels guilty because I think I could be a much better person if I didn't have to always deal with society hating me.

I am the man who stopped attending church, not because I don't believe, but because they closed their doors to my kind.

I am the man who was refused medical treatment because I used to be a woman. (http://imdb.com/title/tt0276515/)

I am the person who has to hide what this world needs most, love.

Repost this if you believe homophobia is wrong.

Notes: --------------------------------------------------------------------

That is so sad. Even if people don't agree with it, they should learnt to accept it. Homosexuality in males, (hasn't been proven yet for females) is genetic

Love is more important than kicking up a fuss about what gender you both are. Same goes for race. It's both sickening and sad. [~Wildchief~] 8/19/2005 10:59:15 AM

this is totally true....our world is suppossed to be about equality and all that but it's not really there at all....i'm definately reposting this.... [mymindslife] [p] 8/19/2005 11:59:12 AM

I'm doing this. Very soon. [Ness Macabre] 8/19/2005 12:45:00 PM

there is too much injustice in the world. we're never going to have true and complete world peace. :-(,

Even though things are still bad, this decade is the most excepting of gays. I learned that on the show The Gayer! [Archer_Mage] 8/19/2005 2:21:44 PM

readers choice baby. go you. [Godless Sodomite] 8/19/2005 3:07:57 PM

I believe being afraid of people for their choices in life is wrong. [Orange Blossom] 8/19/2005 3:17:15 PM

wow all i can say [sfdf] 8/19/2005 3:52:30 PM

Hate of any kind is wrong. Unfortunately we are only human and hate is part of life. This is on RC twice,I think many people should post it and RC each other with it in order to fill rC completely up with one theme. [Love,Monica] 8/19/2005 4:06:33 PM

That makes me want to cry. hugz you tightly [Silent Teardrops] 8/19/2005 4:38:09 PM

[.unknown.] 8/20/2005 1:47:20 AM

Everytime i look at this page is saddens me. This would make a great poster, billboard, or ad on tv! [Archer_Mage] 8/20/2005 2:59:12 AM

They all got to me but the one that made me tear up the most was the man who had to die alone because they would not let his partner in the room. All are horrible events. To think that people would actually have to go through this makes me sick to my stomach. I will post this. [.Steph.] 8/20/2005 3:02:54 AM

Matt, you and I note on a lot of the same diaries, and I read and note yours often. I just wanted to tell you that you are one of the nicest, sweetest people I've run across on here, and it makes my day to read anything you write. You always seem so grounded and focused on the positive aspect of life. THANK YOU!

Love,

Jack

[mikeysjack] [p] 8/20/2005 1:19:27 PM

so horrible...will post this [broken.wings.] 8/20/2005 6:45:24 PM

RYN: Thanks. :) yeah I am hoping that it is going good. [Akourah Lilly] 8/20/2005 7:15:58 PM

Thats sad & so very wrong :( [~~PuddleGlum~~] 8/20/2005 9:39:57 PM

RYN: The ho does see me as a threat, even if I never want to touch her man sexually again. shudders I can't believe I did anything with him in the first place. [jpmoneyz] [p] 8/20/2005 9:51:39 PM

sad and unfortunately true. The only good is that times are changing before our eyes. Nobody can ever stop us from who we are. Just let them try. Go well. [pizzaguy184] 8/21/2005 2:57:08 AM

wow!! that was amazingly sad and yet so touching. i cant believe some of that stuff is so true. it really makes you think about the world we live in and how things could be so much better if people were kind and didnt judge. [sparky101] 8/21/2005 12:41:51 PM

What a cruel and scarry place we exist in. I wish it were possible to have a simple life, to be what you are, to be happy, and people around you to be happy. Why isnt that possible? It sounds so easy, but evidently is impossible. Thats sad :(

-JJ [shrektrek] 8/21/2005 9:40:53 PM

I'm the man who hides his sexuality because thereare people who despise me for who i am. [The Male Poet] 8/28/2005 3:43:15 AM
