So I’ve done a fair bit since posting the large Gengar. Sammy has him now and The next one I made. I’d made a small Gengar and I cut his face of felt and tried to glue it on. Somehow managed to glue the teeth on wrong so he looks very derpy as a result.

After Gengar derpy I did one that had a better face.... then Haunter.... then Ghastly.

After following the pattern for the Pokeball and attempting to expand it for a larger pokemon. As the ball got larger it looks more and more like a pill. So I made my own pattern for Ghastly’s ball. Then came Clefairy. I’d settled on pink ones next because I already had pink from the inside of the bunny ears. So it would cause minimal purchase of brown for the ears. I followed the pattern but he looks off.... the ear parts of the pattern was.... not understandable.... so I used the Gengar pattern for a horn modified.

His wings were also not understandable, so I found a pattern for hearts and though they are uneven, I did my best. Made cute wings.

I had told Tamara at work.... she’s going with me to weekends.... and she asked that I make Lightning McQueen for her grandson. I found a pattern for him that came with Sally and Mater. So I’ve worked on those during vacation.

I’m working on Clefable now and then another pokeball as all the pokemon need homes. Then I still have a fair bit of pink so JigglyPuff I think.... we will see.

That’s my pic heavy entry, Rocky’s up and I guess we should get moving :)

Down the rabbit hole... July 15, 2021

What is not understandable? Just curious...

Here copy and paste : Ears – Make 4, 2 pink/brown, 2 black
In Brown
Row 1: Chain 4, turn (4)
Row 2: in 1st chain, 1 HDC (1)
Switch to Pink, ch 1
Row 3: Back loop only (this creates a nice straight line on the “right side”), 3inc, Ch 1 (3)
Row 4: Inc across, Ch 1, turn (6)
Row 5: SC across (6)
F/O
I ended up with a flat piece that wasn't even triangular, for an ear. Then the wings:
I decided to do 4 so that you only see the “right sides” of the wings rather than seeing the back side when sewn on, this is not totally necessary.
This is a modification of a pattern for teeny tiny hearts I found at this link: http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/teeny-tiny-hearts.html, this pattern counts the first “Ch 3” as a stitch.
Row 1: MR 9 (9) Do not close MR hole entirely, leave enough space for hook to fit through. You will seal it completely at end.
Row 2: (Stitch by stitch)
Chain 3
1st stitch of MR – 4 DC on 2 of the wings, 3 DC on the other 2 wings
2nd St of MR – 1 DC
3rd St of MR – 1 HDC
4th St of MR – 1 SC
5th St of MR – 1 DC, chain 2, 2nd ch from hook make a Sl St, 1 more DC in same (5th St) of MR
6th St of MR – 1 SC
7th St of MR – 1 HDC
8th St of MR – 1 DC
9th St of MR – 4 DC for 2 wings, 5 DC for other 2 wings
To finish: cut yarn with a few inches extra, with hook still in last stitch, put hook through MR hole from front side and pull the tail that is left through the MR hole and the loop of the last stitch, tug firmly, then pull tail back through MR hole, tighten MR so it is closed, and sew in tails/trim ends. Since I made 4 wings, I just tied the two tails in a knot and cut them short.

All in all It's probably my lack of understanding or maybe it's so detailed it's lost on me. I'd like to rewrite it at some point so that I can understand it. However, Clefairy is done in my book so there is no need, really.
