Battle PT clickiness in Days of My Destiny

Battle PT has been a great challenge lately. Last week and the week before, we had to do belly crawls. I had marks on my elbows the next day from where I was belly crawling. This week, I was the last one to pass the 20m mark, and everyone was cheering me on. The leader was down beside me, belly crawling alongside me going, "Go, Colour! You can do it, come on! GO! GO! GO!" and when I finally reached the end line, I rolled over in an exhausted heap and everybody clapped. The leader messaged me the next day:

How's the arms today??? A bit tender?? You wouldn't think it'd be so hard to drag your guts 20mtrs along a floor, you should be happy with yourself surviving my sessions, keep up the hard work, you will be a machine by Christmas :)

So that was great feedback :)

I love that this pushes me like nothing else. I love the obstacle courses and the circuits, I love the non-stopness of it all. I love that it's go hard or go home, by the simple nature of the work. I love that the motto is Just Grin and Bear It. I didn't like this at first, but I have come to really enjoy the fact that I am pushed, and I WILL GRIN. I will give 100% because I'm only there once a week, it's my ONE SHOT to do my absolute best and more.

Some of the people there are quite clicky, which has surprised me, because the leader said to me that it's all about teamwork. I think the workouts themselves encourage teamwork and a teamwork mentality, but some of the people there really are snobs. I get the feeling that it's the people that do ALL of his sessions per week (I think there are 4 of them a week now). They must see me come in once a week, all happy and good attitude, and they might take it as if I think I'm part of their team, when really I'm only there once a week. I get it, but seriously, it's actually RUDE to outright ignore someone trying to make conversation, no? Some of them do that!! It's annoying but I don't let it get to me, because at the end of the day, I'm not there for them, I'm there for MY HEALTH. I get what I need out of it and that's that.

Sometimes we have to do the circuits in groups of 3, say, and I'll be in the middle, making conversation in the easy bits. I might say little things, like, "Did you have a good week?" or, "We can do this," or, "Ohhhhh this is NOT my favourite one." etc. And they outright ignore me. But then at the next part of the circuit, one of the other two people might be in the middle, and so those two people are side by side and conversation is flowing like it's going out of fashion! It's like, well fuck you too!

I first noticed it in my second or third week there and brushed it off. I took it as though I was reading something that wasn't there. But by now, it's pretty obvious that it IS there. It's not all of them, but some of them.

So..... yes.... interesting.
