It’s proposal season. Which means a lot of money, a lot of work, and…nope, that’s it. A lot of work.

Frank is with his mother in FL. She has had a bad time of it lately, suffering from early-dementia, Type-1 diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid problems. Most of these she’s had all her life and managed very well. She’s in incredible shape. Except, the dementia led to her not tracking her blood sugar, and she ended up falling in the middle of the night and breaking her leg. That led to five trips to the ER over the next few weeks, and she just was not getting the care she needed. So off Frank went, a week ago today, to crusade on her behalf. It’s funny, because I’m usually HIS medical advocate, but he has taken complete charge and is making good things happen for his mother, who deserves it. He is a great son.

He is also an amazing husband. I am continually astounded that I get HIM in this life. I think my brother has a man crush on him. Really, he is so steady and patient, and has such incredible stamina to fight the good fight. He’s been calling me a lot on his way to and from the hospital. He left his dad there tonight and was heading to get some sleep. When I told him how much I admired him he said, “I would do the same for you…but I wouldn’t go home.” And he wouldn’t.

I know I’m a good wife. In fact, I’m an awesome wife to him. But he is my guardian angel. I’m convinced.

10 years Monday. This is the longest we have ever been apart. He won’t be home for it, which is OKAY, I have a ton of work to do.

But I’ll be finished by Tuesday and when he finally lands I’ll be so ready. We leave for NY next weekend to visit friends and family upstate. I can’t wait.
