This is a picture I went back for. I saw these yellow irises blooming on Sunday and luckily they were still blooming on Wednesday. The columbines are starting to bloom! I love their almost pinwheel shape. It is raining today intermittently but that is okay because I have plenty to do around the house. And I am waiting for our 7-foot tall UPS guy. He is a seriously tall person, very blond.

The surprise new work computer is 2 inches bigger than my old one and my sleeve with handles for all the to and froing I do is not big enough and this puppy is too heavy for a woman is about to turn 60 to wear hanging off one well used shoulder. So I ordered a new sleeve with handles and hope it is the right size.

This manager that I met for the first time last week and really liked (Can she be my manager?) has a backpack she bought specifically to carry the exact same laptop off both shoulders in the hike from her car to her makeshift office in one of our older buildings. I thought about that solution but am going to try the sleeve.

(Oh yippee, Not Our Tall Guy came by and the sleeve fits the new computer and is much better than carrying the laptop around in a plastic bag, which I admit to having done yesterday.)

I am thrilled to say that I finally got all my various and sundry wireless mice operational. I had to get a new one of those too. Considering the last one was a giveaway at a computer event I am not complaining. Now I have the same mouse for both the work and home laptops. Simplifies things. I have been using a mouse with a cord the last few weeks. It makes me laugh to think how adapted I get to each new technological breakthrough and how annoying that cord was.

Speaking of backpacks. Tomorrow I am doing the whole trip up to Seattle on public transportation (bus or streetcar, train, bus or walking or cab) and I am taking my backpack. This will be the second or third time I will be checking into a very nice hotel with a backpack.

I will try to exude eccentric famous writer vibes or something and not feel too self-conscious.

I admit I have finally gotten to the point where I’d rather stay home than travel alone. Part of this of course is that I hate to leave Sammy but my cat sitter adores him and takes really good care of him and gets the right doses of meds in him at approximately the right time. I am trying this new non-harmful for pets insect repellant made out of orange peels for the ants in case they send another army while I am gone. It smells wonderful at least.

After taking an enjoyable vacation day today I am teaching tonight so I need to prep for that. I have been doing a lot of exploring of preparatory poses for strengthening and stretching all the core muscles for folks that have no tone there at all. It is fascinating. And I have some sore stomach muscles of my own to prove it. :)
