A Boss with Health Issues in My this and that

Well, things have been interesting here at work this week. On Saturday my boss went to emergency at the hospital because his arm had felt tingly and numb off and on throughout the week. They said it was just a pinched nerve and nothing to worry about, but when they had done blood work they saw that his haemoglobin level was half of what it should be and that he had internal bleeding.

So Sunday morning was a bit of a madhouse here at the church, since they kept him at the hospital for more tests and surgery. It went fairly smoothly here though, all things considered.

Turns out Pastor had a bleeding ulcer, which they took care of. And later they found that his numb/tingly arm was the only symptom of a mild stroke he had suffered.

So rest for at least one month, says the doctors. THANKFULLY Pastor is listening to the doctor, and his concerned family and friends, and taking the time to heal. That leaves me with answering the phone here to the dozens of people looking for updates, as well as cancelling all his appointments and making sure not to make any more.

I'm curious to see how long he will be away for. There was talk of two months... but we'll see.

On another note, I'm still trying to figure out these silly pleats on my dress! Been thinking about it all week, and I've tried a few different times, only to find myself thinking it was wrong and pulling out my stitch ripper. I think tonight I'm just going to do it, and move on to the next step. No more second-guessing myself... I'll just do it to the best of my abilities and see how the finished project looks. Maybe I'm just making it more difficult than it actually is.

I received two more books from the library yesterday. One is a stand-alone book (I think), which will be nice. Currently I am struggling through "Into the Still Blue" which is the third book in the "Under the Never Sky" series. I read the second book SO long ago that I'm finding it difficult to figure out who some of the characters are in this book due to my bad memory.

Ben is amazing. Just thought I'd mention that. While I was in the bath last night he cleaned up the kitchen! It's quite lovely.
