About me: A midwestern millennial and user of OD since 99, I’m a near-lifelong Permanently Online. I am an autistic rebel who became truant and dropped out of education system before I reached high school. I am basically entirely educated by the internet, instead, which has its benefits and drawbacks but for me it was the only way. I also had an early introduction to Jung and have a special interest in analytic psychology in the tradition of Freud (in the direction of Lacan) and its intersection with Marxism (ie: Hegelian dialectic, Deluze & Guattari, Zizek)

Most of my original written long-type content is here. my PB writing lineage begins with bored.com & OD, migrates to personal vanity sites hosted on private domains I shared with my friends, and then I came back to OD/PB for a separate outlet. I consider most of the internet to be kind of gentrified now. Maybe there is a better way to describe big sites and algorithms taking over everything.

I am a (possibly an old-school? time is a fuck) SJW. although I am a passive consumer and small-time re-poster on tumblr, that kind of content deeply informs my own ideology. Although I resist the prevailing western capitalist situation I’m also critical & analytical of the counter-movement I remain a part of. It’s my hope to bring missing nuance when I write about it.

I make an effort to get out of my echo chamber, but it’s been tough, especially post-2020 as I become better educated and more focused on anti-racism. Right now, it seems like my friendliest political rivals are anti-racist right-libertarians, so if that describes you, I’m interested in debating proponents of capitalism that fit this type.

on OD I grew my readership writing about drug use and harm reduction and you can see some of that content archived in my book Buy a Ticket, Take a Ride. It remains a special interest and although I haven’t gotten my hands on any especially cool or interesting drugs lately, my drug use is a big part of who I am. I want to help de-stigmatize recreational use and “self medication”.

I also write on sexuality and sex positivity, although I am asexual (grey ace). I’m also nonbinary (agender) and a former sex worker. Having a lack of typical sexuality and gender identity has meant I’m understanding it analytically or experiencing it vicariously through others. I am also polyamorous and many of my friends-only entries expand on my past relationships trying to settle for mono men when those are most of my options and my experience being a unicorn. Post-pandemic I might try to start dating again, so possibly some more content on that in the future.
