Been awhile. in A small but passable life.

I finished Book 9 of Jordan's "Wheel of Time" series. I'm halfway through a biography of William Burroughs. A very troubled man he was, but a freaking genius.

I'm still living out of the van, still parked in the same spot. When Jassy and Clayton came down that Friday we decided that the visit from the cops was a one-off aberration. And they haven't been back. Clayton didn't get the job he'd come to the city to interview for.

My little brother and sis-in-law found me the Saturday before Easter. We had a nice walk and talk around the block. My sis-in-law had pictures of the new grandson on her phone. Adorable. We jumpstarted the van before they left. Since I didn't have anywhere to go I just let it idle for a bit. And yes, the battery was dead again the next day when I went to start it.

I walked the several mile round trip to the post office today. And for some reason my left knee has turned to jelly. It's like nothing is there. Most strange. I'm thinking about telling Jassy to bring me one of Dad's canes she has. I have my hiking staff in the van but I think that would be a little too radical for city sidewalks.

This past week, while reading the local paper over at the student union, I noticed three obituaries in the paper; two men born in 1962 and one man born in 1958. Made me stop and think for a bit. And then in the NYT I found an obituary for Michael Glawogger, the director who was born in 1959. He died of malaria in Liberia. It kind of makes a person wonder about the cosmic randomness of things.

Megashare.info has gone belly-up (not politically correct to say tits-up anymore?). So I'm no longer able to keep up with my Grey's Anatomy or Game of Thrones. I'm back to endlessly searching Netflix for something to watch. Game of Thrones has already veered off from the books anyway.

I'm still searching for people I've lost since OD went . . . offline. I had over sixty people bookmarked and who I always tried to keep up with. Now I've got maybe a third of that.

Anyway, life goes on.
