Lot on in Adventures in paradise

Ma (my grandma) had a massive bleed last night and we didn’t think she was going to make it through the night. However, she surprised us and I smiled seeing a message from mum saying ‘Ma is still with us. Sleeping peacefully.”
I do think it’ll be days away though.

And I have a lot on to keep my mind busy over the weekend, between work and social events. Friday will be weird, going to a venue Ive yet to go to and trying to find someone who I haven’t seen in like 7 years who will also be in drag. I have nothing to go on other than, “Just look for the tall woman.”. I guess that means he’s doing drag full-time now. Or might be trans. That’ll be embarrassing on my part of that’s the case. I’m not sure why he/she’s even invited me to their birthday. I might recognise Zach, who I also haven’t seen in as long. I just don’t have a good feeling that this will be smooth conversation lol.

Saturday after work, I’m hanging with the boys, so that should be good and always a laugh. It just all depends if Ma is still around on how my mood will be. I feel like I’ll still work to take my mind off things. I already shed a quiet tear during my tea-break today, so I’ll probably be emotional when she does go.

I caught up with Brandé at Toowong on Monday. It has a Boost, a Nando’s AND a Kmart, despite being a small shopping complex, so that place is dangerous for my wallet 😅
We had quite a moving conversation about our grandparents. Brandé is very emotional and his late grandma passed before he could make it back to Korea to say goodbye. She used to tease him about how emotional he was as a kid. I spoke about how close I too was with my mother’s mum (much closer than I am with Ma, as sad as this is) so it was nice to share stories about our late grandparents on our mother’s side’s and have a few laughs between the teary eyes. Of course this was over Nando’s 🍗
I also picked up a nice Sherpa throw for my sofa, and even went back yesterday to grab a second one, as the first isn’t quite big enough to cover it completely. The special had since ended but was still a decent deal. I had Boost and Nando’s again, so I’ve told myself I have to lay off having chicken again this week.

And Sunday is Big Gay Day, my city’s big gay event. I don’t know what time I will end up going to it. I think making a 9-hour event out of it will be too much for me, you know, since I’m old and boring these days and am already trying to give myself willpower to even attend. Let alone tomorrow’s event, although I’m telling myself I’ll only go to that one for a few hours. Will see. I kind of only want to see Samantha Jade perform. Peeta might go early, in which case I’ll keep him company. He surprised me by saying he’s anxious. The guy who gave ME confidence to do things back when we were hanging out, and who is always at music events doing crazy shit, is anxious? I joked with him, “that explains the 💊💊”
Maybe I should be on them 😅

I dunno, it’ll be an interesting few days. Glad there’s new episodes of The Circle out for me to tune out to tonight. Chloe is hilarious. As for Big Brother this year - god, everyone is boring as batshit and one of them seems mentally insane. Oh, I’ve also started watching Desperate Housewives properly, you know, cos I’m gay as fuck and am refantasizing about Naughties-Jesse-Metcaffe. I also can’t believe how hot Eva Longoria was/is in that show, and I love Teri Hatcher.

Anyway, that’s enough gayness from me. Hopefully I can watch the F1 on Monday if I’m not too hungover from BGD.
