Mayflies and foliage in At the foot of the hill

The trees have leafed out to the point where I can hardly see the lake from my third story windows. However I can always step out onto my deck and have a view.
It is that time of year for the Mayflies to swarm. I thought they were big mosquitos but have been informed otherwise. Fortunately they don't live long in their adult state and should be gone in a week or so. At least they don't bite!
Today we are meeting a friend from California who is in town visiting her sister-in-law for brunch. She is my nephew's mother-in-law and a fun and funny lady. Her sister-in-law is also good company and is really wanting to see our apartment as she is getting ready to downsize from a big house. After we eat we will all come back here for a tour and continued visiting.
I am waiting for a phone call from my doctor's office with results from blood tests and the ultrasound of my gall bladder.
Here's hoping that nobody has blown away in these awful winds.
