I met with the attorney today and let me just say that divorce is expensive. The office I met with only does uncontested divorces. Meaning my ex and I would have to agree on everything before they filed paperwork. Which meant I had to reach out to my ex and see if he would be willing to go this route. I had to let him know I was going for spousal support as well as child support. Something I don’t think he realized I was going to do. I just sent an email to him explaining the whole situation. I am hoping he realizes this route will save us both time and money. It’s going to cost $1750 since we have kids. If he agrees, then he could pay half the fee and I would pay the other half. If he doesn’t agree, this situation is about to get all kinds of expensive for the both of us. And I know I don’t have the money to be wasting fighting on stupid stuff. Just like I’m pretty sure he doesn’t have the money to be wasting either. So fingers crossed he agrees to use this attorney and we can make an appointment to sit down and hash everything out.

Now I get to sit and wait for him to see his email and respond to me. I hate waiting! Fingers crossed he agrees to use this attorney so we can FINALLY get this ball rolling.

**This mother fucker has already answered my email. I had sent it to his work email so she wouldn’t be able to see it, so I wasn’t expecting a response until tomorrow at the earliest. He says he is perturbed because he gave me a little extra money from our tax return to do something fun with the boys. And he hopes I still have that set aside. Nowhere in my email did I say I was using all the tax return money for the attorney. I also mentioned we were about to get a third stimulus which should cover everything! He goes on to say that I mentioned spousal support twice and tells me he hopes I’m not expecting that as he already pays the mortgage, carries insurance for the kids, and provides HSA funds for their medical bills. WTF. He wouldn’t be paying the mortgage anymore once we got divorced. I would be. And as far as the insurance goes, I’m pretty sure the state would tell him he HAS to carry insurance on them especially since my work doesn’t offer it. If I was told I had to then I would have to get them Medicaid. He says the same for his retirement account. That he doesn’t have much in it and he needs it to be able to move soon and buy furniture for the boys at whatever place they move to. I swear, I don’t know why I thought he would see reason.

I am so mad that I’m about to start crying. He has created this whole situation and wants to be difficult about it. Mother fucking COVID can go jump off a cliff. If I had been able to get my divorce last year when I wanted his stupid guilty feeling ass would have agreed to everything.
screams into the void**
