Still no rain. in A small but passable life.

Today should be the last day of cooler temps until it returns to normal. For the last three days it has tried to rain. Two mornings in a row there were a few drops in the rain gauge. And even after hearing some raindrops on the roof last night there was nothing in the gauge this morning.
I poked around online and made a few phone calls yesterday. Apparently there are no vaccine shots available. I couldn’t even find a waiting list to sign on to. This state has authorized eligibility for 55+, but can’t follow through with it.
Is this the new national lottery? It may be easier to just sit here and wait for herd immunity. I’ve already done it for a year. What’s another year?
Daughter is ready to quit her job and take some time off before she loses her sanity. She asked if I would buy her a plane ticket to come out here. I said “Always!”. I told her she could stay as long as she wants to.
I remember when she turned eleven (2004) and I bought her a cell phone and told her that from now on she’ll decide when to come and visit me. Not her mother or I. And all she had to do was call and I’d come and pick her up.
And here we are, more than a decade and a half later, and she still wants to visit.
The sun is shining and it is trying to warm up out there. Maybe I can sort out the lights on the new scooter today. It is supposed to be 67 degrees today. And back into the eighties by Thursday.
