BTC is up and we made a shit ton of money.
Ofc we aren’t going to touch it for at least 5 years. Should shoot up even more, as the dollar collapses. I just hope the economy will be viable in the future. It’d really suck if starving people from the cities poured out into the countryside and killed and pillaged for food. Barring that, we’ll be okay, I think.
Still, we need a SHTF plan.
I’d really like an emergency 10 acre plot and put up a fence around it, plant something like sunchokes, elderberry, raspberry, seaberry, apples, etc, and just leave it there for an emergency landing. Someplace in the middle of Fing nowhere.
Someplace that I can just load up my cow and let her go at the new place until we figure out whether we’re living or dying. lol. Course I guess I’d need a well. Dammit. There’s always something.
I had this idea about the hobbit houses- that it’d be a viable option. After more research it’s a no-go. They’re not built for cold climates. Maybe we should move south… but then again, I can’t handle the heat. I’m like, 150% northern european. No one is whiter than me. I just wilt and die in the hot sun.
We could throw together a cabin and a woodstove to live under a roof until further notice. But still… the well thing is a huge bump in the road. Uhg. That means we need to buy the property now, vs when the real estate prices collapse. That is a huge chunk of change we’re going to lose. That sucks.
Ramble.
It’s weird, I’ve never felt more excited about a future; but it wasn’t until I accepted that it is DICEY as FUCK, and there’s a good chance a lot of people will fucking DIE. I’m not excited about that. That part is… horrifying. But, accepting the horror of our future is, I think, allowing me to let go of false hope for unicorns and butterflies.
I’m just thinking in terms of reality rather than dreams of hope and change. And it’s got a fire lit under my ass to start doing something.
