Spring has arrived in The View from the Terrace

Saturday was officially the first day of spring and this has certainly been reflected in the weather. It has been warm and sunny enough to have coffee in the garden. It’s amazing how just that can lift my spirits.

Wales has started to ease lockdown restrictions. We are now allowed to travel 5 miles and garden centres are allowed to re-open. From Saturday all travel restrictions will be lifted and self contained accommodation will open, so it looks as though Hubby and I will be able to have some kind of a holiday this year.

I had a lovely Mother’s Day. I was enjoying a lie in when the doorbell rang at 8.45. I cursed Amazon for coming so early on a Sunday morning, assuming it was another one of Louise’s orders, but when I got down there I found a box that obviously contained some flowers. They were from Louise and were beautiful. They are still going strong 9 days later.
Hubby had already brought me a deep pink orchid from Chris and some daffodils from our garden in Herefordshire when he came to take us shopping on the Friday, so the living room was filled with flowers.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t warm enough to spend the afternoon in the garden but we did enjoy a takeaway and a movie in the evening. This last Sunday afternoon, though, was beautiful and we spent the afternoon finally planting some primulas and Bellis daisies that we bought a while back in Tesco. The daffodils and tulips are now out in the little front garden and it all looks very springlike.
