Diets and Politics in Diary

I've started the 5:2 diet again. I did it before we went to Florida but I've put on about 7-9lb since we came back six months ago and have a bit of a podgy belly. I don't know what the actual amount is, I seem to weigh different amounts from one day or one week to the next, even though I weigh myself at the same time of day. Maybe it's something to with the time of month and I should only weigh myself once a month? Anyway, today I've had a low fat yoghurt, small apple, small bowl of homemade chicken and sweetcorn soup and a tuna salad. My next fast day is going to have to be Thursday as I don't like doing two in a row and we're going to the cinema on Wednesday so I have to have popcorn, it's the law.

My mouth guard arrived for roller derby! I haven't moulded it yet but it seems to go quite far back in my mouth and makes me feel like gagging. I'm sure I'll get used to it. Exciting!
We got a leaflet through our door today from UKIP. I feel dirty just having it in the house but apparently you can post it back to them at their own expense as they have a freepost address, so I'm definitely going to do that. There's a poster in the middle that they want you to display in your window saying "I'm voting UKIP, no more leaflets please." I think I'll cut out the "No more leaflets" part and stick it to the envelope :op

I found out today that, not only are they racist, they're also homophobic. They released a statement saying how marriage should be between a man and a woman, for ORDINARY people. Not two men or two women, but for REAL people. So, all you people out there who are marrying people of the same gender, you're EXTRAORDINARY and made of plastic or something.

They're pro-Monarchy, which I'm not.

They also don't believe in mad-made climate change and oppose renewable energy. OK, so even if mad-made climate change didn't exist, we would still need renewable energy, otherwise what happens when fossil fuels run out?

Basically, they're the exact opposite of my ideal political party. Load of eejits, I can't believe how popular they are.

I'm hungry, I'm looking forward to eating crisps and chocolate tomorrow.

85 working days remain.

Good luck with the 5:2 diet! X

My dad thinks Nigel Farage is the second coming or something. It's an embarrassment. I can't be related to him, surely?!

Deleted user April 29, 2014

Wow, I didn't know that about ukip x

I did awesome with a diet... for a month or two then went downhill. Ugghh. Speaking of which. I feel awful x.x

Well shit. I guess im not considered a real person xD

Babe In Toyland April 30, 2014

I've read about people sending bricks to UKIP using their freepost envelope. I don't know if you can really do that?

Bomb Shell Babe In Toyland ⋅ May 01, 2014

Apparently Royal Mail have 'fair usage' policy on freepost addresses and don't let people abuse it in this way. Nice idea though!

Babe In Toyland April 30, 2014

BUT you could feasibly cut their leaflet into tiny pieces, out each one in an envelope and send it back. You'd just have to buy a lot of envelopes!

Bomb Shell Babe In Toyland ⋅ May 01, 2014

Haha evil plan :op I could just send them a load of empty envelopes as well!

I can't believe the British media give UKIP so much air time. They don't do that for independents of the Green Party! It's an awful bias and while they can claim it's because Farage makes good TV I wonder if the big boss at the BBC has an ulterior motive? Parity and transparency - pfft! Horrible.

Good luck with the 5:2 diet, it's great if you can find something that works for you.

I used to do something a bit like this but on my fast days I used the 'Eat and Reduce' diet by Victor H Lindlahr: http://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=wu.89043235183;view=1up;seq=9 basically you're eating tonnes but calorically it's next to nothing so it also increases your metabolism. Anyway, it was just a thought if - like me - you don't like being hungry x

I know, I don't understand it. Thankfully most people I know hate them as much as I do so hopefully they won't get voted in. I'm definitely voting, even if it's just to keep them out! Thanks for the link :o) I'm a grazer; I'd rather have several small meals a day than one big meal as I hate being hungry but I also hate being too full so I'll be having a look through that.

Good luck with the diet. My weight seems to change every week too, I've supposedly gained 4 pounds since last week which sounds silly to me :-\

I'm glad it's not just me then, I'm going to assume it's all hormone related.
