Mental and Emotional Fatigue - Starting my own brand in Small Business Startup Journal - The Journey To Starting My Own Brand of Travel Clothing and Handbags

This is where I am up to.

Since investing over $1000 in having a prototype made overseas, only to have the manufacturer slowly fall out of touch with me after they said they had sent off my prototype that I watched being created over the months through zoom meetings, then to never arrive - I am finding myself fatigued and have had to stall my design process.

You see I did not have my contract renewed for my job in December 2020, and have since had to keep looking for work. It’s now January 23rd 2021 and I am back to job hunting extensively and it’s fatiguing. I have had various meetings with recruiters, only to not hear any feedback back from them or any updates. This pause on an income has also meant that I have had to pause myself on restarting the whole process of finding a new manufacturer, obtaining a quote and starting the design process again.

On top of that I am even more anxious about finding a manufacturer as I am desperate to find an Australian manufacturer to produce my bags - something that has now become very important to me.

With this new free time I have also been researching into another idea I had about the same time as I had my idea for my bag brand. This new idea is a magazine project and honestly to begin with I was torn between both. But I have been re-evaluating and I have made a decision to work on both projects, but slowly. For some reason I was limiting myself to just working on one project at a time.

But why? Elon Musk works on multiple projects, I recently read that he divides his work week by dedicating a company to each specific day - and this is what I will do.

However I have had to put much of the second project on hold too, as it also requires finances to back and really get started in the creation of the magazine.

So for now I have drawn a simple work flow map and stuck it to my wall, a simple combination of what I have to do and in what order, and it all starts with simply getting a job.

How long this will take, who knows - it could be weeks or months.
