TikTok in Life in General

So I have been really putting some time into TikTok content lately. I don’t have a specific goal in mind with the app but it doesn’t take like an extraordinary amount of time and the app seems to really recognize the content I make, unlike Instagram which buries the hell out of everything I post haha.
Well recently I made a video about TV display technology and while the overall reaction has been very positive there have been a couple negative reactions that bothered me. It started with me asking a question that misled you into thinking I may say something racist but then immediately goes into TVs. It’s a classic comedy formula, “say something that sounds bad and then explain your way out of it.” I’m far from the first to do this and honestly I still really like the tiktok, along with 99% of the people who saw it, because realistically I don’t actually say anything bad. I just make you think I might. I’ve seen tiktoks where they straight up make fun of what other races look like, and yes they did get a lot more hate, but I’m saying that there are definitely more deserving videos that these people could put their energy towards.
So why do the few people who didn’t like it bother me so much? It’s probably some psychology thing I don’t understand. I wish I could just brush it off but a big part of me just feels awful. I don’t want anyone at all hating what I do. I would just delete the video if I could, but unfortunately at this point people have stitched the video, cutting it right before I go into the TV explanation and it sounds suuuuuuper bad haha. So if I delete the video any viewers will be unable to see the context.
Anyway I obviously am a big wuss and can’t handle even the tiniest amount of negative feedback, so that will likely be the final edgy joke video I ever make. I just wanted to vent a bit here, sorry for the weird post.
See you later!
