It only took thirteen days for the whole “Sell your car in ten minutes” fiasco. I dropped the car off Monday. Was told the “Instant Payment” should be in my account in two or three hours. I guess we have a new definition of instant. They gave me an Uber home. The payment wasn’t posted Monday. I called Tuesday. I was told the payment didn’t go through. I was told a check would be sent overnight. No check arrived on Wednesday. I called. I was told the check went out seven hours prior. The check arrived this afternoon. So, the “Instant Payment” took four days. Idiots. Now I have a check in hand instead of digits in my bank account that’s three states away. Idiots.

Daughter should be boarding her flight for out here right about now. Her flight is due in at 10:10pm. She’ll be here for a week. My oldest niece should be here Sunday or Monday. She’ll be driving out from Amarillo. I’m hoping they’ll be able to help me finish cleaning out the house.

I’ve got everything sorted. Now it’s just deciding who wants what and what is going out to charity.

I haven’t told Daughter I’ve sold the car yet.

I downloaded the Uber app today and played around with it a bit. It is definitely a viable option to car ownership. Not counting the 2018 Fall roadtrip I only put 4300 miles on the car in 2 1/2 years. And most of that was Mom’s errands and my once a week grocery shopping of ten miles round trip.

So anyway, I’m probably going to close the laptop for solid week. I could use a break.

Edit: I just read the sidebar. Last year’s entry on this day. The car had just turned over to 6000 miles. That means I put 1450 miles on the car this past year. At about a dollar a mile the Uber would have been cheaper.
