I meant to take pictures of Easter egg calves. I always mean to do that. Easter egg calves are bright red and white or black and white babies rolled in balls in nests of green grass. Sometimes they stretch their legs out and they are cute too but not Easter eggs.

This winter Jim brought all the cows home so it would be easier to feed and water them. He's been taking pairs of mother and child back to Joana's as the calves are being born. We walked up yesterday afternoon to check them out... lazing on a south facing hillside. Mostly black ones this year, though a few have fancy bits of white on their faces.

John's family stayed north for the holiday. They will be home in a few weeks for Mother's Day. Deb is posting their California trip in her blog. It's fun to see. They strategized their day at Disneyland.

Yesterday was John's birthday. I hope he had a good day. I let the day go by without calling. Shame on me.

Spring and Easter feel like chances for new beginnings. I guess it's time to take advantage of opportunities. Weigh options. Become a better human being.

Here's hoping...
