Our dishwasher is broken. It's like a nightmare for me. I sincerely hate to touch dirty dishes. It is the single most disgusting thing on the planet in my opinion. It's bad enough when I have to rinse them to get them ready for the dishwasher, but to actually have to put my hands in filthy water and wash away the filth on them makes my skin crawl. We discovered it on Saturday after running a full load of dishes that were massively disgusting afterwards. So I called on Sunday to put in a work order for it, and called this morning to get an ETA on when they were going to come look at it, because frankly its starting to reek in there. The cycle goes, but the water won't drain. Scott pulled a ton of the water out last night and we were gagging the whole time.
They said they will do everything they can to come look at it today, but who knows. Our complex was recently bought by another company, and it wasn't left in good shape for the new owners. Lots of stuff left to fix, and the grounds a mess. In fact, our pool might be open by the end of May, but there is no guarantee. Our garbage disposal was broken before they made the switch, and by the time it got fixed, it was broken for over 3 weeks. It wasn't the new owners fault, though I am upset that they have been short staffed. Apparently the sell went through faster than it was supposed to, so when they took over at the end of last month, they were totally unprepared. It's starting to look like they are ready to take things on though, because they finally got gardeners out to cut the grass and pull weeds.
Easter was good. Ian had a better grasp of things this year, though due to his interest in You Tube videos about toys, and discovering Surprise Eggs, he wasn't happy that every egg that he came in contact with didn't have something in it. Salem was much more gracious and understanding of her brother being younger than her during our egg hunts, so that made me happy. Church was awesome. Our church is in a small facility, and so to accommodate guests and to bring the whole church together, they rented out an elementary school behind us, and did one big super loud service there. They did such an amazing job. Very proud of what they accomplished. We had lunch at my father in laws and the kids got their stuff from him. He did an egg hunt for them that was worth money, and after all was said and done, Salem found $23 worth of eggs, and Ian found $21. My friend Sarah from church invited us over for dinner, but we were still stuffed from all the food at my FIL's so we went over later and let the kids play and had dessert and wine with them. It was a nice way to end the day.
Father in law left today to California to get my Mother in law. I have yet to say anything to my boss about leaving. I know this is weird, because to me it is completely backwards and is not at all the kind of employee I am, but when I prayed about it, I felt urged to wait. I don't work again until the 28th, and that is when I am going to tell her. My hope and prayer is that somehow we can make it so that I can work from home. 90% of what I do is on the computer and via email anyway. I have already considered telling her that we can agree on a set amount of pay per week and I can work everyday instead of 3 days and do what needs to be done as it comes in. Realistically it would probably only be 10 hours a week worth of work. But it really is her decision, and I am curious and anxious to get it out of the way. Plus, if I really think about it, I would rather know that I am free at home to concentrate on the kids the way I want to. I guess I just have to see what God has for me in this situation.
