Early Sunday in What's Happening

I’m up early this morning just laying here thinking about random stuff. I was just thinking about how on Christmas my Aunt and Uncle invited me over for dinner at my cousin’s house. I haven’t been there in probably ten years. When I walked in I saw they had one of those hardwood-style laminate floors. They must have installed it themselves because all the seams were lined up in a straight line. I couldn’t stop looking at it. I was mesmerized by the shoddy workmanship and the fact that they didn’t stagger the seams. Even the most amateur of amateurs would know to do that.
I finally emerged from my slump. I’ve been feeling great the past couple days. Sometimes when I’m in a slump I wonder if it’s a seasonal cold or some kind of bug I’m really dealing with that is draining all my energy. I asked on Facebook if there was anything going around. My post was perceived more as a joke and received mostly laughs and not very many serious answers (because of covid obviously). I kinda thought that might happen when I was writing it, but I also thought,
The common cold and other ailments still exist, don’t they?
It’s like ever since covid came along I don’t ever hear of anyone talking about getting anything else. Even my job didn’t offer the flu vaccine this year like they usually do.
I have a lot of stuff to do today. Hopefully I can get it all done.
