I had a lovely long weekend with my family and we were busy every day. I have to make the most of it as I only see them three or four times a year.

Good Friday, 18th April

On the Friday, we all went to Allonby for a walk along the beach and for a famous Twentyman's ice cream. The queue for the ice cream was 30 minutes! But it was delicious and worth the wait.

Sonja with a bench on her head, Rob, Eleanor, my dad, Isabel and my mam, having a picnic in the sunshine.

Me and my sister, Sonja, with matching hair and sunglasses.

A view of Scotland across the sea.

Natterjack toad tadpoles. These are rare and protected; the pond they were in was drying out as it hadn't rained for a while, but we were told that the local fire brigade comes and fills it up, which is nice.

Saturday, 19th April

Today Sonja and dad were both at work, so me and mam went and collected the girls and took them to the Jennings brewery Easter fun day. They got a treasure hunt, face painting, magic show, egg painting competition and plenty of chocolate and they only spent £1 each!

They could choose anything they wanted for the face painting and Eleanor chose Leonardo from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The brush was tickling her face.

The finished product, complete with missing teeth!

Isabel said she was frozen, I'm going to assume it's something to do with the Disney film? Most of the girls had the same thing :-/

On Saturday night, us four adults headed to the pub where mam had fun with giant and tiny drinks.

Dad has set up the bird box camera that I sent him for his birthday. They have a pair of blue tits making a nest in there and I got a cracking photo of one of them eyeing up the camera! I hope they have chicks, that would be awesome to see them growing up :o)

Easter Sunday, 20th April Today we drove down to Giggleswick in North Yorkshire for mam's helicopter flight, which we bought her for her 60th birthday last year as she's always wanted to go up in one. I couldn't get any photos of her actually in the helicopter as we weren't allowed up close, but here are a few shots I did get.

Mam exiting the helicopter, like a film star! Big smiles!

We then drove to Burnley as dad had booked us all into a Premier Inn for the night. We spent the rest of the day and Monday morning just chilling out, wandering around, eating and drinking.

It was a really nice weekend, I wish I could spend more time with them.

88 working days remain.
