I don’t think I have ever managed a picture of blooming rhododendrons that I am happy with, but that doesn’t keep me from trying. I can see these beauties from almost all my windows right now as the gloom gathers at midday.

We are due for about a week of rain, which we need. It was gorgeous and somewhat clear last night for the spectacular full moon. The same moon we all share. I was asleep well before the eclipse started.

St. Joe is taking the rest of the week off on vacation and our office is sort of kind of closed on Monday because we are moving. I’ll be doing his job while he is gone. The days will go fast because I will be busy.

Someone completely unexpectedly came up to me from another department today after a meeting and she had heard I teach yoga. It turns out she has been practicing with Gary Kraftsow’s (my teacher’s teacher) lower back DVD for a few years. She actually uses it and finds it most helpful. She’s never been to a real class in his tradition. It would be so awesome if she came to a studio class. Fingers crossed.

She was very excited that I had actually met Gary; I heard her bubbling on about it to someone else when she was leaving. I know if I can just keep grounded and remain on friendly terms with my insecurities I will build a sufficient student base to sustain my financial ability to keep teaching.

My boss said something to me on Monday that helped me understand that maybe he has an idea about some of the previous dynamics in my workplace; he is not shy about expressing opinions. He said, “…not that they were setting you up to fail or anything…” I just burst out laughing and said, “I would never say that, never in a million years would I say that…”

For some reason that simple recognition of some of the difficulty I have encountered was most helpful, and I have been working off site or in meetings so the male bonding “stuff” hasn't bothered me so much.

Trying to stay positive here.
