Todays lesson for the kids was prompts to get responses/ real emotion and where and when. I gave them a list of some prompts so they could practice on each other and a few on little girl.
She was not having it. I got maybe half a dozen pictures with her and only a couple prompts before she was dying because she was hungry. So we did some on B. And then I did a few with all 4 students. Then they turned around and did them with their mothers. All in all it went well. They took my lists and did them on one another. I was watching them go right down the list lol. Figuring out what worked. I was watching them applying other things i taught, Like watch your backgrounds and your light. So its awesome that they are remembering things i talked about.
We played a few games. Like recite your ABCs in order in the FUNNIEST voice you can think of. Dont repeat the voices. So i started with A, the next girl got B, then C. And so on. I was explaining its not about the prompt i use, its about your reaction to them. You may feel silly saying your ABCs but you start laughing and you have REAL emotion. So it worked well :) We all do prompts with or without realizing them. But it went well.
Next class we are going to focus on posing and then we are going to bring in a model. Someone not my kids. I figure ill post in some homeschool groups and explain whats going on. Ill give you 5 professional photos from me, if you let me demo a session then let my students practice too. Or shoot over my shoulder. But i want them to try posing and prompting the families too. It dosent have to be a family. Just a couple kids would be fine too. Anything they can use to see how I work and how they can work. The whole point is to give them some basic building blocks and grow. 3 of the girls just have a lot of fun but 1 is more interested in it as a job too. I just want them to have fun. The things im teaching are things that would work for their phones too. With their friends, family, whatever. As long as they are enjoying it :)
