Cannon has been staying at his grandparents' house 1.5 hours away since Saturday night so I could do the classroom observations that I needed to do before May 5th. Jacob cried when we left. I felt bad! I also miss him terribly and have been counting down the hours until I get him back! he is mommy's snuggle bug. <3 He eats much better at their house than he does for us too, so it's good. He has been having fun playing with his aunt.

It is also good because I literally was not able to sleep Sunday night from anxiety which triggered insomnia... this has only happened with my pregnancy with Lorelei. it is awfully frustrating. There have been several shootings in KAnsas City lately and one of them happened at the Jewish community center in the same part of town that we were in on Saturday. I am just so shaken up by it and my head wouldn't stop playing out terrifying scenarios. one of the other shootings was on the same highway I was driving on that very same morning. It is hard to be calm when these things keep happening. :(

I am actually still at the school observing but it's rest time for the kids and I am bored. I have had to sit in an observation room with a one-way mirror yesterday and today. I am doing five hours today and five yesterday and then I will be done for the class I am taking. The school I am at is The Children's Ceneter for the Visually Impaired. From what I've seen, it is an excellent school. I have been watching the three to four year old room. They have a high student-teacher ratio, several services for the kids, the teachers are very nice, and a structured schedule that teaches independent and social skills. They have a sighted peers program that I think I want to talk to them about. I think Cannon would love the activities and the other kids. he really needs something like that!

I am so ready for a nap and to see my kid tonight.
