Positive or Negative? in Book Seven: Reconstruction 2020

Those who follow me on Facebook already know this but…

As you know, I live in a county that believes their worship of MAGA and the fact that we are a mid-size rural Farming Community means that we needn’t worry about COVID19. After all, masks and social distancing is just an attempt to tank Trump’s economy! And if you think Trump now wearing a mask means anything to these people; bless your heart! It does just the opposite. Since he’s “railed against COVID until he was bullied into it and refused to wear a mask until he was bullied into it”; they see the maskless COVID-hoax lifestyle as a show of solidarity with their Ignoramus Dear Leader. (Tell me again how he can be a ‘strong masculine leader’ if he’s so easy to bully?) AND as tragic and well-known as it is… MAGA Worshipers refuse to acknowledge any evidence of a reality not shared by Fox News or Trump himself. But I still feel the need to share!

Our state put restrictions in place at the middle of March and had them in place until the beginning of May. In those two months; our little county only had 17 positive COVID confirmations almost all of which were found in Nursing Homes.
Restrictions were lifted (mostly) on May 1 and entirely about two weeks later. From May 1 to today; our little county added 74 COVID confirmations. A surprisingly LARGE amount of them in the 18-40 demographics due to factory work, meat packing plants, and bar attendance.
If we do the math… PRIOR to restrictions being lifted: our little county averaged “almost 2 confirmed cases per week”. SINCE restrictions have been lifted: our little county averages “7 confirmed cases per week”. Or one new case per day! Now, obviously this isn’t as bad as say… Maricopa County or Miami-Dade County or Tarrant County or New York County or Cook County. BUT those are also (for the most part) counties that don’t foolishly believe that “by Rural Spread” or “Iowa Pride” we are somehow invincible to this damned thing.

And I get a lot of people asking why I’m such a “downer” or “doomsayer” or “stick in the mud”. I mean… “if we CAN go to bars, why be a dick about it?!” and “Your upbringing in the city is showing. We’ll be fine out here!” To that I say:

I am sick of COVID19. I am. I want to visit friends and family more freely. I want to hit up bars and restaurants. I want my international travel plans to not be cancelled. If our government or our citizens had been responsible? There’s a good chance we could have seen numbers like Germany, Norway, New Zealand, or even Canada. But we didn’t… and STILL AREN’T! You want COVID to go away and to get things back to “normal?” You want to go to bars and keep the economy going? FIRST we need to get our Viral Numbers back down. The faster we do that, the faster we get to where we want to be. Refusing to do that because you’re tired of COVID and Restrictions is guaranteeing THE OPPOSITE of the outcome you desire!!!

Now to the actual entry (or at least what I came on here to say):

I don’t know if it is a positive or a negative to presently have no home computer. On that note, I’m still wondering if I should get a laptop (for its built-in camera and mobility) or a PC (for its memory and performance). BUT… I don’t know if it is a positive or a negative to presently have no home computer. Over the weekend there were many times I felt like writing. A response to a hostile note; an idea for a script; expressing a sense of depression and isolation… among other things… all of these raced through my mind and desired expression. But… I despise writing long-form on my phone. Hate it with a passion beyond expression. So I did not write. Is that good, to not spew more words into the internet ether of permanence and triviality? Is that bad, to not express oneself in a time of maximum isolation and total social cut off? I don’t know the answer. What I do know is that my area is trying desperately to compete against Texas’ outbreak numbers. Like a point of pride, sadly, Republican Governors are comparing their COVID outbreak statistics in a “Whoever has the most wins Trump’s approval” bullshit contest. Which… is pathetic. I know that the GOP Trump Toadies are not using logic or intelligence in any way but Trump’s reaction to the Private Built Border Wall should be proof enough that unless he PERSONALLY STANDS TO BENEFIT, you can’t get his approval. In a show of support, MAGA Supporters donated and privately funded a portion of border wall. Trump is now saying it was done to embarrass him. SO I WOULD SAY TO HIS TOADIES TO TAKE THAT INFORMATION DOWN: As he has proven repeatedly… it does not benefit anyone to actively try to please him. He is not someone who can be proactively pleased by anything other than words. You want to make him happy? Metaphorically suck his dick by opening a meeting with “Required Praise” like Pence did. You can’t make him happy through ANY kind of action because he gets pissy that you may get attention instead of him. And since that has been repeatedly proven over the last 3 years and is pretty objectively true… it stands to reason, once again, that this fucking asshat should be booted. PATRIOTISM IS ABOUT THE COUNTRY NOT THE PRESIDENT. If it is more important to praise the President than to support the Country… that isn’t patriotism… that is Cult.

OMG, seriously. I was considering not continuing down this line of thought but… URGH GRARGH WHAT THE UNHOLY FUCK?!?!

So… the President and Mike Pence have continually tried to pressure the CDC into changing what it says. The President has now launched an attack campaign against Dr. Fauci because Fauci isn’t falling in line with Trump’s virus narrative. So, keep that in mind. Trump and Pence are actively fighting against, working against, and attempting to discredit MEDICAL EXPERTS WITH MORE EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND ACCESS TO RESEARCH.

The president shared a tweet from Chuck Woolery that said “Everyone is lying. The CDC, Media, Democrats, our Doctors.” With more than 135,000 people dead in the United States from coronavirus, the former host of Love Connection thinks this is all about the election.

I know people say, “Don’t worry about his tweets” but this is something his supporters instantly latched onto. AND WE DON’T NEED MORE PEOPLE BELIEVING COVID19 IS A HOAX! For FUCK SAKE you incompetent twat waffle, ignorant, fucking bastard! Trump disagrees with the CDC, the WHO, the global evidence, and all rational thought… but sure… Chuck Woolery gets his “Virus Response Thumbs Up”??

HOW IS THIS REAL LIFE?!

Trying to distract myself… I have to say, and I know this is silly, but I wish one of those “Looking for a workout partner, best friend, and lover” Tinder profiles would respond/match with me. I mean… granted, COVID and no gyms etc. BUT pushing solo is difficult. I can watch what I eat, cut out soda and alcohol, keep up with walking and running (Nala is ever so good for that) but… I still can’t break through to my desired form. My long term goal? Long term being 5 years… I want to get down below 200 lbs again. Some could logically suggest that… it won’t happen as long as I’m on my Rx Pills. And they may be right. A lot of my weight gain happened after pills. BUT anyone that has ever done anything (ESPECIALLY if it is hard) understands that “doing something with someone else makes it easier, more fun, and more sustainable”.

When I thought I was out… they pulled me back in…

SO… I am trying to work. I have Petitions to file. I have children’s safety to work on. That is my job this morning.

Meanwhile…my extraordinarily white boss and his extraordinarily white paralegal have spent the last TWO HOURS bitching about BLM. Claiming that BLM only cares about Criminals and wants Anarchy and should be (I kid you not) investigated by the FBI and shut down because they are promoting chaos and murder. That BLM is attempting “insurrection” to develop a “Black Majority Nation”. That we are “in the grips of the most aggressive and evil push towards socialism ever.” THEY LITERALLY JUST SAID SOMEONE NEEDS TO ASSASSINATE GEORGE SOROS TO SAVE AMERICA!
