Of thunderstorms and silk in Secrets of a crafty witch

Almost sounds like a cheesy romance novel :D But actually it is just that. We are getting the first real rain on the house all year. We had maybe 3 small snowfalls all winter and no rain till today. Its pouring. Thunder, lightning, storming. There is a 3 ft wide river down each side of our street. Of course my sisters friend has BOTH her cars parked here, she hasnt left for 48 hours and so we have to park down the damn street now. Which meant walking up our street and its 3 ft wide puddle up to my ankles, Joys. I was wearing a tank top when we left.... And no coat. I know it was coming but it was actually kinda sunny when i left on errands. It needs it. The reservoirs are low. We are on a water restriction and the plants all look sad. Of course its desert y so its not going to soak in. It kinda pools and muds and runs all over the place lol.

We originally left to find Orvous paste. Its a type of soap that is safe for and i quote the package here. Sheep, Cattle, Horses, Livestock, Pets and fine fabrics lol. Seems a bit odd no? I need to wash that kilo of silk! I tried just some dish soap and that didnt do much. So i searched for what other people are using, and this is it. This is what the people who use silk use! This was it. I then swung into walmart to grab some more of the lion brand mandala yarn. I wanted gnome which is a rainbow. But even though it said in stock, they didnt have any. So i got the last three troll. Which is purple aqua pink mint and dark blue. Its really pretty. Ive done a sweater in it before. In fact ill link a photo. Ive been working on some blankets this year.... And i saw this one in troll and i wanted it in gnome but ill take troll!

Here is my current blanket in progress. Its about 2 feet on one side now :) Its done in Magic Moon ( purples and greys) and forrest path ( blues greens and greys. ) I dont really like how the colors are placing right now, But i dont want to rip it back just yet… I may take the other half of the yarn ive got for it and start it over haha. We will see. I cant get any more of the yarn right now. So hopefully 4 is enough like the pattern says.

This is the flower of life jacket i made in troll ( with a blue hood) So imagine these colors in a blanket. I actually cut all most minty green out of it because i didnt want it in there lol. I used 5 cakes in the jacket so the sleeves would match. It has a corset front over the bust.

This blanket is the same as the one im working on and its in gnome. The reason i wanted a gnome one lol.

I love rainbows :) But all the stores are sold out of mandala yarn. Its a nightmare getting it thanks to Covid. It never seems to be in stock.
Anyway this is what the blanket will look like when im done. Different colors of course but still.

Ive got one other blanket im working on. But i havent taken any photos in a long time. I started it in December. For some reason all ive been wanting ot make is blankets. And they are just getting stacked all over the place!

Anyway better get back to it :) Enjoy the rain, at least i dont have to do anything on a rainy day!
