Hi friends;
A quick reminder to be humble (from last week - I’ve been a bit out of it lately).
A lot of you guys know of my many health struggles and how bad things are.

It’s been tough to update because my laptop broke, but at 1am this morning, I started feeling intense tooth pain and swelling out of nowhere. Severe tooth pain that I’ve felt before, an abscess. 😫
I got up, did a hot salt water rinse, it didn’t help. I did it again and again. I couldn’t sleep. I can’t take pain medication because of another medication I’m on. If I did, a violent reaction would occur, so I am stuck with this pain.
I did other rinses that I have on hand with clove oil, but the pain is too severe.
2am, 3am, 4am… and now 5pm. I wish I were dead. I called my primary care Dr hoping that she would prescribe Amoxicillin for the infection (which she did without seeing me). I’m very thankful. If I went to the emergency room, that’s all they’d do.
Now, I have a fever, chills, dizziness, headache, nausea… It’s hitting me hard! And the tooth pain is a ten out of ten.
You can’t even go to a dentist because they won’t do anything until the infection clears up.
Now, I’m on c-diff watch as well. I’m really hoping I don’t have to be hospitalized, especially with so many people that are sick.
So this postponed my chemo treatment a week.
I can’t eat, it hurts to swallow and talk. The pain is excruciating! I wish I could sleep through it, but I can’t.
Life is tough for everyone now, but don’t complain about being stuck indoors, at least you have a roof over your head, a bed to sleep in, air conditioning, heat, food to eat and the ability to eat that food (not everybody does).
I had a couple of teaspoons of applesauce today so I could take pills; just opening my mouth was hell!
The swelling is so bad on my left cheek that I can see it without looking in a mirror.
You think your life is tough? Try living a day in my shoes.
Despite it all, the pain, the disease, the never ending suffering, I’m thankful for what I do have because I didn’t always have it.
And there are a great many people out there right now currently having it worse off than me.
Think about that.
Be thankful for what you have. Take a look around you right now, and be thankful.
Be humble.
.
It’s been a rough week… Started out with a tooth abscess followed by a 4 day fever with excruciating pain, dizziness, chills, migraines and light sensitivity.
Then, my laptop died… Permanently just out of nowhere, it won’t boot or recognize windows.
And just a couple days after my fever broke, still in pain, I had my chemo treatment today. They almost didn’t do it because I had a low grade fever still. It’s a calculated risk, but we went ahead with it.
Waiting for needles like…
My Gastroenterologist asks if it’s helping; I said:. “No. But historically my body needs more time to respond to meds. You know I have a very rare and severe form of ulcerative colitis”.
She responds: “I think that’s a huge understatement“
Sigh…
… and now the side effects…
Sore throat, pounding headache, nausea, congestion, runny nose, coughing… Full on flu-like symptoms.
I just made some tea, but I want to throw up.🤮
Passover has begun, but no, matzos for me… 🤒 Happy Pesach Red Sea Pedestrians!
.
Not where I want to be during a viral pandemic…
And now I’m being tested for c-diff… AGAIN!!!
.
I feel like death warmed over, but I’m trying to end this on a more positive note. Let me just say that I hope everyone had a pleasant Easter and a continued Passover.
Speaking of Passover…
You know what that means… Time for songs about the story of Passover, like Dayenu and of course this one.
No need to wear a yarmulke to TURN IT UP!!
(For those not familiar, this is a song about the tenth plague that G-D beset among the Egyptians for the Pharaoh not freeing the Jewish slaves even after 9 other plagues; “The Angel of Death” or “Creeping Death”). Not a bad way to start the holiday!
