We have been adjusting to school at home. I set up a schoolwork schedule for Aaron. He does his work in the morning. He then takes a break in the afternoon. Usually he goes running or digitally chats with his friends. Then he does an hour or two more of school.

The twins have a syllabus of when their work is due. They have assignments for each day. We go over what their assignments are and check in with them. For the most part, we have let them set their own schedules. They have been doing well with studying so far.

Kayla and Timmy were fortunate to be able to do the musical before the shut downs. This was the year they had major roles, and was the highlight of their senior year in many ways. If school is closed for the rest of the year, I think they will be okay with it.

Today is my birthday. It is strange because my birthday is normally so busy. It is right around the first day of spring and St. Patrick’s Day. There are usually parades and sporting events. I realized that in forty-five years I have never had to consider whether a place I wanted to go to would be open on my birthday. In some ways this must be what it’s like to have a birthday on a major holiday.
