I just wanted to share this thing my brother shared with us all on Facebook. I shared it on there, but for those in the back that might not have me on FB.
My brother is a Doctor of Public Health (U of A) and he works as a Neurophysiologist out of Philadelphia, so this isn’t just some random opinion he has. Anywho, here’s what he said:
So I’ve seen a lot of people posting about Corona virus and everyone seems to be an epidemiologist these days. That being said I feel like I should chime in as a former epidemiologist as this is a serious issue.
Sure the media has hyped up COVID-19. But please listen to the public health professionals from the CDC and WHO. Use the precautions they have suggested to prevent the spread of the virus.
A lot of people are saying, “this is mild and I won’t get that sick from it.” But think about those who are immunocompromised or in the older population that it will hit harder. Think about those around you. This isn’t about how strong your own immune system is and whether you can fight it. It’s about making sure you don’t give it to someone who can’t fight it.
Think about your grandparents and loved ones who may have a weakened immune system due to an underlying condition. Help protect them.
Stay safe my friends and family. Use common sense. Wash your hands. Avoid unnecessary activities in large crowds. This is real and it’s happening right now.
So there’s that. I mean take it how you want it, but I know my brother and I trust him. Ee and his wife both work in the medical field there in Philly. He also sent my brother, my dad and I a text about what we can do personally to combat this thing. My dad is older, has CHF and Diabetes so he’s definitely at a higher risk. I am immunocompromised thanks to the RA and the medications I take to keep my immune system at bay. My oldest brother and his wife also work in the medical field, here in Tucson, he’s a nurse and she is an FNP.
We have gone into town maybe three times in the last two weeks. We went to get groceries on Sunday. Got most of the stuff then. Monday I had botox and we didn’t stay out long. I went to get my eliquid this morning. I’ve been up since 4:30 Monday morning. It’s now 4:37am Tuesday.
I just now realize I would never be able to use my office as an office because the rats are in here and they are squeaking and wrestling and banging on the cages ugh. Plus we have a little mouse or something that came in from outside running around in here. Ugh. So yeah we have to set up a trap. It can’t get into the girls cage because of the bar spacing and it can’t climb up to the boys cage as far as I know, and if it does, they will seriously fuck it up because they are all twice it’s size. I just hope it doesn’t chew anything significant.
We’ve been hearing it in the walls in various places, but haven’t actually seen it until now. little fucker. I took Winston with me this morning on my trip to the vape shop haha. He did great. Just pretty much chilled out the whole entire time. The girl at the shop was like OMG SO CUTE!
You guys, I have no words for this shop. Actually, no, I have a ton of words. They have been so amazing! I used to go to Club Vapor just down the street. They had a BOGO offer going on during the construction they were doing and once that was over it was like meh. So when this new shop opened, I visited a couple times and they just have always gone above and beyond. If I have an issue, they will correct it. I’ve had issues with WHOLE bottles of juices. The person mixing them was the owner’s son and the lady that always helps me was like omg and just rolled her eyes. So they replaced that. The same guy gave me the completely wrong coil, and I didn’t notice until I was about to use it so it was open.
The one thing that sold me 100% on them no matter what (barring any obvious unfortunate events) was when I had to drive to San Diego suddenly to pick Randy up in August. I went there beforehand to get some juice for the trip because I knew it was going to be a clusterfuck. So I was super emotional because of everything that had been going on and I burst into tears when she asked me how I was or if I was ok.
So I just kinda vented to them and she was like you know what, you need to get to CA, come pay me back when you get back. I didn’t get paid for another week and a half, but I went back and paid my bill and bought more.
Today though, or yesterday I guess lol. They have a punch card reward system, you buy 9 bottles the 10th is free. So I had 2 punches left and I usually get 2 bottles anyway, and I asked if I could redeem my free one so I could be prepared. She was like yeah no worries and then went and made my 3 bottles. When I was paying, she asked for my phone for the punch card, and then just checked off the 2 bottles and said “i’ll leave the free one for you, for next time, don’t know what’s going to happen from here on out”.
They’re just awesome people. I’m glad I switched to giving them my business rather than CV because their staff had gotten rude and snobby. So whatevs. None of it makes sense to anyone, but me. HA.
I think I’m all typed out for now. Don’t have much else going on, and that’ll most likely be the case for the next couple weeks. I’ll get back to you when I have something important to say lol. Later everyone!
